What you'll do

• Lead the investigation and analysis of security incidents, utilizing advanced forensic techniques to determine the nature and impact of threats.
• Monitor security alerts and events, prioritizing incidents based on severity and potential impact on client operations.
• Collaborate with other security teams to develop and implement effective incident response strategies and remediation plans.
• Conduct thorough threat hunting exercises to proactively identify vulnerabilities and potential attack vectors within client environments.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to security incidents, including detailed reports and post-incident analysis.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior SOC analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
• Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to ensure the SOC remains at the forefront of the industry.
• Participate in the development of security policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance the overall security posture of the organization.
• Engage in regular communication with clients to provide updates on incident status and security posture, ensuring transparency and trust.
• Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new security tools and technologies to improve SOC capabilities.
• Conduct training sessions for internal teams and clients on security awareness and best practices.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and other external agencies as necessary during security investigations.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or similar cybersecurity role.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks, incident response methodologies, and threat intelligence.
• Proficiency in SIEM tools, intrusion detection systems, and endpoint protection technologies.
• Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and tool development.
• In-depth knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and security appliances.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or similar are highly desirable.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud security practices and tools, particularly in AWS or Azure environments.
• Experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing methodologies.
• Knowledge of compliance standards such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, or ISO 27001.
• Previous experience in a client-facing role, demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in using security information and event management (SIEM) solutions, such as Splunk or LogRhythm.
• Familiarity with endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools, such as CrowdStrike or Carbon Black.
• Knowledge of threat intelligence platforms and frameworks, such as MITRE ATT&CK.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.

• This position is based in Madrid, Community of Madrid, and may require occasional travel for client engagements or training sessions.
• The salary for this role will be competitive and commensurate with experience, with additional benefits offered by Bamboohr.
