As an L3 SOC Analyst, you will be responsible for investigating complex security incidents and providing expert guidance to junior analysts. Your expertise will play a crucial role in fortifying our incident response capabilities and improving our overall security posture.

What you'll do

• Conduct thorough investigations of security incidents, identifying root causes and recommending remediation strategies.
• Monitor security alerts and events from various sources, including SIEM systems, to detect potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement security policies and procedures that align with industry best practices.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior SOC analysts, enhancing their skills in incident detection and response.
• Develop and maintain documentation related to security incidents, investigations, and response actions for compliance and reporting purposes.
• Perform threat hunting activities to proactively identify and mitigate potential security risks before they escalate.
• Engage in continuous improvement of SOC processes and technologies to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to ensure the SOC remains at the forefront of the industry.
• Participate in post-incident reviews to analyze the effectiveness of the response and identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to share intelligence and improve incident response capabilities.
• Assist in the development of incident response plans and playbooks tailored to specific threats and vulnerabilities.
• Provide expert-level support during security incidents, acting as a point of escalation for complex issues.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment, with a focus on incident response and threat analysis.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices, including NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS controls.
• Proficiency in using security tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and threat intelligence platforms.
• Experience with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation and analysis tasks.
• Familiarity with network protocols, operating systems, and common vulnerabilities and exploits.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or GIAC are highly desirable.
• Experience with cloud security and familiarity with platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, or HIPAA.
• Previous experience in a consulting or client-facing role is a plus.
