About the role
This position owns measurement for advertising impact on the Instacart platform. You will design experiments and convert complex data into executive recommendations. You will bridge multi-retailer data with brand strategy. You will guide partners through ambiguity while maintaining rigorous analytical standards. Your work will shape how audiences perceive shopper marketing value. You will translate ambiguous business questions into structured measurement plans that stakeholders can act upon with confidence. You will act as the analytical conscience of the media organization, ensuring that insights remain objective and scientifically sound. You will foster a culture of evidence-based decision making across the advertising ecosystem.

What you'll do
- Execute advanced experimentation and attribution modeling to isolate the true impact of advertising on key business metrics.
- Convert messy, high-dimensional data into clear narratives and visualizations that reveal the underlying drivers of performance.
- Partner with media buyers and strategic planners to define testable hypotheses regarding audience targeting and media mix.
- Design measurement frameworks that accommodate the complexity of multi-retailer environments and varying shopper marketing strategies.
- Develop custom dashboards and automated reporting solutions that provide stakeholders with real-time visibility into campaign health.
- Lead cross-functional workshops to align on metrics, definitions, and success criteria before analysis begins.
- Apply AI tools such as Claude and Cursor to accelerate data wrangling, documentation, and preliminary analysis workflows.
- Leverage our internal AI platform to automate repetitive tasks, allowing more time for deep strategic thinking and insight generation.
- Present experimental results and data-driven recommendations to executive audiences with clarity, precision, and executive presence.
- Educate internal teams and external partners on advanced measurement concepts to build organizational literacy and trust.
- Navigate high-ambiguity problems by breaking down vague questions into specific, testable analytical approaches.
- Identify strategic opportunities for client growth, such as upsell offerings or operational improvements, grounded in data-driven insights.
- Tailor communication styles and technical depth to suit diverse stakeholders, from technical analysts to senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement by documenting playbooks and standardizing best practices for measurement and attribution.
Requirements
You must have 3 to 5 years of experience in analytics or measurement roles focused on performance or media analytics. You must demonstrate advanced experimentation skills, including A/B tests, multivariate tests, and quasi-experimental methods such as difference-in-differences or regression discontinuity. You must possess strong attribution modeling experience, working with first-party data sources to understand customer journeys and incrementality. You must be able to communicate highly technical findings to non-technical audiences without losing nuance or accuracy. You must have a proven track record of representing measurement capabilities to external partners, including retailers, agencies, and technology vendors. You must be comfortable working in a matrixed environment where priorities shift quickly and stakeholder management is critical. You must adhere to strict data governance and privacy standards, ensuring that all analysis complies with internal policies and regulatory requirements. You must have experience working with SQL or similar query languages to extract, transform, and analyze large datasets efficiently. You must be proficient in at least one visualization or analysis tool, such as Tableau, Looker, or similar platforms, to create compelling and interactive dashboards.
Nice to have
You will have direct experience working within multi-retailer environments, navigating data from multiple sources while maintaining analytical consistency. You will have exposure to shopper marketing metrics, including lift studies, halo effects, and basket analysis specific to grocery and retail media. You will have worked with brand-side media teams or agency partners who rely on measurement insights to optimize large-scale campaigns. You will have used AI-assisted coding environments like Claude or Cursor in a professional setting to speed up development and reduce manual effort. You will have experience presenting to C-suite or board-level audiences, where brevity, clarity, and strategic framing are essential. You will have a background in driving operational improvements that scale analytical processes and reduce manual intervention.
Practical notes
You must be located in Canada and be eligible to work remotely from Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, or Nova Scotia. Engagement is remote-first, with expectations to participate in periodic in-person community events to strengthen team cohesion and collaboration. Compensation is set at 134500.00 USD on an annual basis for this role, aligned with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience.
