About the role
Insomniacookies is seeking a Senior Field HRBP to act as a strategic extension of the People Team for our growing Central and West Coast field organization. This role owns the end-to-end employee lifecycle for a multi-state footprint, balancing strategic advisory with hands-on execution to ensure people strategies directly support business growth. The Senior Regional HRBP serves as a trusted confidant to regional and market leaders, translating business objectives into actionable people initiatives around engagement, retention, and culture. You will navigate complex employee relations situations with empathy and compliance, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes across all locations. Success in this role requires strong business acumen, sound judgment, and the ability to influence leaders at all levels within a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This position can be based on-site at our HQ in Philadelphia or remotely from Florida, Dallas, Charlotte, or Atlanta.

What you'll do
Partner closely with Regional Directors and Field Operations leaders to align people strategies with business goals and growth plans across the central and west coast regions.
Translate business needs into actionable HR solutions through workforce planning, organizational design, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives that scale.
Use data and insights to identify trends, risks, and opportunities related to engagement, retention, performance, and talent gaps within field teams.
Act as a subject matter expert and escalation point for complex employee relations matters, including performance management, corrective action, investigations, and terminations.
Coach and influence field leaders on effective people management practices, navigating difficult conversations, and mitigating employment risk.
Oversee and conduct internal investigations, ensuring fair, consistent, and compliant outcomes with thorough documentation and procedural rigor.
Coach and influence field leaders to be confident, effective people managers who consistently live our Insomnia Cookies values in every interaction.
Partner with Talent and Operations teams to support strategic hiring, structured onboarding, and retention strategies tailored to the needs of field employees.
Drive regional engagement initiatives that strengthen connection, culture, and belonging through surveys, analysis, action planning, and leader enablement programs.
Champion Insomnia Cookies' culture and values efforts across the field organization, ensuring alignment and authentic adoption at every location.
Provide guidance to leaders on compensation decisions, job leveling, promotions, and performance-based rewards within established frameworks and market data.
Partner with the centralized People Team on benefits administration, program enhancements, and communication strategies that resonate with field employees.
Support the operationalization of learning and development programs in the field, ensuring accessibility and relevance for frontline teams.
Identify trends in turnover, compensation competitiveness, and engagement, and recommend targeted, data-informed solutions to regional leadership.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across multiple jurisdictions, including wage and hour regulations, Fair Work Week, FMLA, OSHA, EEO, and ADA.
Stay ahead of evolving employment law changes and HR best practices, advising leaders on implications and proactive solutions for field operations.
Promote consistent, compliant, and people-first practices across all locations to protect the brand and employee experience.
Partner closely with the broader People Team to drive consistency, scale best practices, and support enterprise-wide people initiatives.
Perform other duties as needed in support of the People Team and overarching business objectives without hesitation.
Requirements
8+ years of progressive HR experience with significant background supporting field-based, multi-unit, retail, restaurant, or hospitality teams.
Proven experience partnering with senior leaders and influencing outcomes without direct authority in complex matrixed environments.
Strong business acumen with the ability to connect people initiatives to operational outcomes and financial results.
Strong employee relations expertise and the ability to navigate complex, high-stakes situations with confidence, care, and strict confidentiality.
A business-minded, data-informed approach to problem-solving that balances empathy with objective analysis.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly with leaders and teams at all levels, from frontline staff to executives.
Comfort working independently in a field-based role while staying deeply connected to a collaborative, cross-functional People Team.
High integrity, discretion, and a genuine passion for people, culture, and delivering exceptional employee experiences.
Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities, ambiguity, and fast-paced demands in a growth-oriented organization.
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations, including FLSA, FMLA, OSHA, EEO, and ADA, with a commitment to compliance.
Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
Strong coaching and consultative skills to develop managers and drive sustainable behavior change in the field.
Proven ability to use HRIS, ATS, and other HR platforms to analyze data and drive evidence-based decisions.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field or equivalent combination of experience and education.
