Your Daily Responsibilities

A typical shift requires you to own the entire guest journey from entry to exit. You will promptly greet guests entering the store and take their orders according to our established procedure. Clear communication is essential; you will help customers understand menu items, answer any clarifying questions, and repeat orders to ensure absolute accuracy before production begins. Your goal is to deliver a warm experience with a smile, whether the interaction is in person or over the phone.

The baking component of the role is central to our identity. You will measure dough and bake our delicious cookies to a perfect standard. You will also manage the assembly of orders, which includes adding a scoop of ice cream to cookies just before they are packaged. Speed and precision are critical when packaging delivery items to ensure they move out fast, warm, and exactly as requested. Financial accuracy is non-negotiable; you will handle cash, card, and digital payments, ensuring the drawer remains balanced with zero shortages or overages. Hygiene is equally important, and you will clean, sanitize, and maintain the bakery to keep the workspace safe and efficient. Collaboration is key, and you will work closely with teammates during shifts to cover peaks and maintain a fun tempo. The role also requires the physical ability to handle heavy boxes weighing up to 40 lb while moving product around the kitchen.

Requirements and Qualifications

To succeed in this position, specific criteria must be met. You must be legally eligible to work in the United States and provide the necessary documentation. Age is a factor, as you must be 18 years or older to be employed by Insomnia Cookies. The physical demands of the job require you to be able to lift boxes up to 40 lb without assistance reliably. You must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays, as these are peak business times.

Experience-wise, we seek individuals with at least 6 months of experience in a customer service-focused role, although this is preferred rather than mandatory. You should possess a personable, genuine, and outgoing demeanor. A customer service focus is required, with a mindset dedicated to exceeding guest expectations. Operational skills are vital; you must have great communication, organizational, and math abilities. Handling numbers quickly and maintaining a friendly attitude under pressure are daily requirements.
