What you'll do

• Lead and facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other Scrum ceremonies to ensure effective team collaboration and communication.
• Coach team members on agile principles and practices, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
• Work closely with product owners to prioritize the product backlog and ensure that user stories are well-defined and understood by the team.
• Remove impediments that hinder the team's progress, ensuring that they can focus on delivering high-quality work.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project goals and deliverables, fostering a cohesive working environment.
• Monitor team performance metrics and provide insights to stakeholders to drive informed decision-making.
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement and communication, ensuring that expectations are managed and met throughout the project lifecycle.
• Support the development of a high-performing team by promoting a culture of trust, respect, and open communication.
• Assist in the onboarding of new team members, providing guidance on agile practices and team dynamics.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices in agile methodologies, sharing knowledge with the team to enhance overall performance.
• Participate in organizational initiatives to promote agile adoption and maturity across the company.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Scrum processes and practices within the organization.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role within an agile environment.
• Valid Top Secret/SCI clearance is required for this position.
• Strong understanding of Scrum and agile methodologies, with a proven ability to implement them effectively.
• Excellent facilitation, coaching, and mentoring skills, with the ability to inspire teams to achieve their best.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex situations with a calm and constructive approach.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience with agile project management tools, such as Jira or Trello, to track progress and manage workflows.
• A bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience is preferred.
• Certification as a Scrum Master (CSM, PSM, or equivalent) is highly desirable.

Nice to have

• Experience working in a government or defense contracting environment.
• Familiarity with scaled agile frameworks, such as SAFe or LeSS.
• Knowledge of additional project management methodologies, such as Kanban or Lean.
• Previous experience in a technical role, providing a deeper understanding of software development processes.
• Ability to mentor and train other Scrum Masters or agile practitioners within the organization.
