Bamboohr is seeking a dedicated Surface Fires Integration Planner to join our team at Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana. What you'll do

• Collaborate with military leadership and operational planners to develop comprehensive surface fire support plans that align with mission objectives.
• Analyze and interpret operational requirements to determine the necessary fire support assets and resources needed for effective mission execution.
• Coordinate with various military units and agencies to ensure integration of surface fire capabilities into joint and combined operations.
• Conduct detailed assessments of terrain and environmental factors to optimize fire support positioning and effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain fire support documentation, including fire support plans, target lists, and coordination procedures.
• Facilitate training sessions and workshops for military personnel on surface fire integration techniques and best practices.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of surface fire missions, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
• Stay current with advancements in fire support technology and tactics, incorporating new methodologies into planning processes.
• Prepare and present briefings to senior military officials on surface fire integration strategies and operational outcomes.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on surface fire operations, providing guidance and support to other planners and units.
• Assist in the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for surface fire integration within the organization.
• Participate in after-action reviews to assess mission performance and identify areas for future training and development.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in military operations, with a focus on fire support coordination and planning.
• Proven experience in joint fire support operations, including familiarity with various fire support systems and platforms.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess complex operational environments and make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey information to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, fostering strong relationships with military personnel and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in relevant military planning software and tools used for fire support operations.

Nice to have

• Experience in a leadership role within a military unit, demonstrating the ability to guide and mentor junior personnel.
• Familiarity with advanced fire support technologies, such as precision-guided munitions and targeting systems.
• Previous experience in joint multinational operations, enhancing the ability to work in diverse team settings.
• Knowledge of current military doctrine and tactics related to surface fire operations and integration.

Skills & tools

• Strong proficiency in military planning software and tools, including but not limited to Joint Fire Support System (JFSS) and other fire support coordination tools.
• Advanced knowledge of fire support systems, including artillery, mortars, and close air support.
• Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS) for terrain analysis and mission planning.
• Competence in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, for data analysis and presentation preparation.

• This position is located at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana, and may require occasional travel for training or operational support.
