What you'll do

• Implement and oversee security measures to protect classified information and sensitive materials in accordance with federal regulations and company policies.
• Conduct thorough security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements to enhance security protocols.
• Collaborate with military and civilian personnel to ensure compliance with security requirements and facilitate effective communication regarding security matters.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on security procedures, emergency response protocols, and best practices for safeguarding sensitive information.
• Monitor access control systems and conduct regular inspections of secure areas to ensure adherence to security standards.
• Investigate security incidents and breaches, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Maintain accurate records of security activities, including incident reports, access logs, and training documentation, ensuring all information is up-to-date and accessible.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for security-related inquiries and concerns, addressing issues promptly and professionally.
• Assist in the development and implementation of security policies and procedures, ensuring they align with current regulations and best practices.
• Participate in security drills and exercises to evaluate readiness and response capabilities, making adjustments as necessary based on outcomes.
• Liaise with external agencies and stakeholders to coordinate security efforts and share information relevant to the safety of personnel and facilities.
• Stay informed about emerging security threats and trends, adapting strategies and practices to mitigate risks effectively.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in security management or a related field, with a focus on special security operations.
• Proven knowledge of federal security regulations, including NISPOM, and experience working within a military or government environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective solutions.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey security concepts to diverse audiences.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required by the position.
• Proficiency in using security management software and tools, with a strong understanding of access control systems and surveillance technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with risk management frameworks and methodologies, particularly in a defense or government context.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and practices, including knowledge of information assurance.
• Certification in security management or a related discipline, such as Certified Protection Professional (CPP) or Physical Security Professional (PSP).
