About the role
The owns the evaluation of how users interact with healthcare technology and digital systems to ensure solutions are intuitive and effective. This role owns the analysis of workflow and usability challenges, translating user needs into actionable design recommendations that improve adoption and satisfaction. The position owns the development of user-centered enablement resources that support training, onboarding, and workforce readiness across complex enterprise environments. You will own the collaboration with clinical, technical, and operational stakeholders to align technology solutions with real-world needs. This role owns the identification of opportunities to strengthen peer support networks and optimize day-to-day clinical operations. You will own the documentation of findings and the presentation of human-centered solutions to diverse audiences. The position plays a critical role in ensuring that new systems and enhancements deliver tangible improvements in user confidence and operational efficiency.

What you'll do
Evaluate user interactions with healthcare information systems to identify usability issues and workflow bottlenecks.
Conduct workflow observations and usability assessments to generate actionable insights that improve the end-user experience.
Gather end-user feedback through interviews, focus groups, and feedback sessions to inform human-centered design decisions.
Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to document findings and recommend process improvements that enhance user adoption.
Support the design and development of user guidance, job aids, training materials, and knowledge resources for technology implementation.
Collaborate with super users and peer support networks to promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement of adoption strategies.
Assist with long-term staffing analysis by evaluating workforce trends, role requirements, and operational demands.
Contribute to centralized training and onboarding initiatives that build workforce readiness and facilitate successful technology adoption.
Assess opportunities to optimize clinical operations through improved system usability and streamlined user workflows.
Participate in organizational change management efforts to support user enablement and smooth implementation of solutions.
Document human factors insights and present recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Support the integration of human-centered design principles across digital health technologies and enterprise healthcare systems.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Factors Engineering, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience supporting human-centered design, usability, workflow analysis, user adoption, training, or healthcare technology implementation initiatives.
Experience observing end users, gathering feedback, and identifying opportunities to improve system usability, workflow efficiency, or workforce readiness.
Experience supporting software implementations, digital transformation initiatives, or healthcare information systems.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate meetings, interviews, focus groups, or user feedback sessions with multidisciplinary stakeholders.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to document findings and present recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
Experience developing user guidance, job aids, training materials, or knowledge resources that support technology adoption.
Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify user challenges and recommend process improvements.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Nice to have
Master's degree in Human Factors Engineering, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience supporting Oracle Health (Cerner), Epic, or other enterprise Electronic Health Record (EHR) platforms.
Experience supporting Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Defense (DoD), or other federal healthcare organizations.
Familiarity with clinical workflows across inpatient, outpatient, or ancillary healthcare settings.
Experience supporting organizational change management, user adoption, or workforce enablement initiatives.
Knowledge of human-centered design principles, usability evaluation methods, and workflow optimization techniques.
Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility requirements and inclusive design principles.
Experience supporting Super User, Peer Support, or End User Optimization programs.
