This specific Clinical Informaticist II role is contingent upon award and is scheduled to commence in either August or September 2026. In this capacity, you will own the analysis and optimization of enterprise health information systems to ensure they meet evolving federal standards. You will serve as a key liaison between clinical stakeholders and technical teams to bridge gaps in understanding and implementation. Your work will directly influence data governance, analytics, and interoperability efforts across complex healthcare environments. Ultimately, you will drive workflow optimization and support data-driven decision-making that enhances care quality and operational efficiency.

What you'll do
- Evaluate clinical workflows and user needs to recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency, usability, and quality of care.
- Manage data quality and governance initiatives by validating clinical information and resolving data discrepancies to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Analyze clinical and operational data to develop reports and dashboards that provide actionable insights for stakeholders.
- Monitor operational metrics and key performance indicators to identify trends and support rapid intervention when necessary.
- Assist with healthcare data exchange, information lifecycle management, and compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
- Translate complex technical and clinical concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for diverse audiences, including executives and clinicians.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, implement, and refine informatics solutions that align with federal project objectives.
- Leverage standard clinical vocabularies and data structures to support interoperable health information systems.
- Document requirements, design specifications, and testing procedures to ensure traceability and compliance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical informatics practices through knowledge sharing and process assessment.
Requirements
- Possess a Master's degree in Clinical Informatics, Health Informatics, Nursing Informatics, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Bring a minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical informatics, healthcare information systems, electronic health records, or digital health.
- Demonstrate expertise in data quality management, data governance, clinical reporting, and healthcare analytics.
- Show proficiency in analyzing and optimizing clinical workflows within healthcare settings.
- Have experience with enterprise Electronic Health Record implementation, optimization, or sustainment.
- Understand healthcare interoperability principles, clinical data standards, and information management best practices.
- Communicate effectively to translate technical information into actionable recommendations for diverse audiences.
- Be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance as required by contract conditions.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National to meet federal project eligibility requirements.
- Must be available to work full-time in a remote capacity from within the Washington DC area.
- Must comply with all contract-specific terms, conditions, and scheduling requirements as outlined in the Statement of Work.
Nice to have
- Have experience with Oracle Health (Cerner), Epic, or other major enterprise EHR platforms.
- Bring background working with the Veterans Health Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, Department of Defense, or other federal healthcare organizations.
- Familiarity with HL7, FHIR, SNOMED CT, LOINC, and ICD-10 standards.
- Have experience developing dashboards, operational reports, and healthcare performance metrics.
- Hold relevant certifications such as CPHIMS, AMIA Clinical Informatics, PMP, Lean Six Sigma, or similar healthcare informatics credentials.
