As a High School Facilitator at Hutchinson Community College (Hutchcc), you will play a pivotal role in guiding and supporting high school students through their educational journey. What you'll do
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the diverse needs of high school students, ensuring alignment with educational standards.
- Facilitate classroom discussions and activities that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and effective communication among students.
- Provide one-on-one academic support and mentoring to students, helping them navigate challenges and achieve their personal and academic objectives.
- Collaborate with teachers and school administrators to identify students who may require additional assistance or resources.
- Organize and lead extracurricular activities and workshops that enhance students' learning experiences and foster personal growth.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing timely feedback and support to help them stay on track with their educational goals.
- Maintain open lines of communication with parents and guardians, keeping them informed about their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and enhance your facilitation skills.
- Advocate for students' needs and interests within the school community, ensuring that their voices are heard and valued.
- Utilize technology and educational tools to enhance the learning experience and engage students in innovative ways.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and other relevant data as required by the institution.
- Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respect, diversity, and a sense of belonging among all students.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working in an educational setting, preferably with high school students.
- Strong understanding of high school curriculum and educational standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and staff effectively.
- Proven ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment that motivates students.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and software to enhance learning experiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of individuals, fostering teamwork and cooperation.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between multiple locations as needed.
Nice to have
- Experience in mentoring or coaching high school students in academic or extracurricular settings.
- Familiarity with local educational resources and community organizations that support student development.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR, or willingness to obtain certification upon hiring.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish or another language are a plus, enhancing communication with a diverse student population.

- Strong facilitation and presentation skills to effectively engage students in learning.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and educational software platforms.
- Familiarity with online learning management systems and digital communication tools.
- Ability to analyze student data and use it to inform instructional practices and interventions.
