What you'll do

• Collaborate with high school administrators and faculty to design and implement early college programs that align with both high school and college curricula.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local high schools to promote the benefits of early college programs and encourage student participation.
• Coordinate the scheduling of college courses offered at high schools, ensuring that they meet the academic standards of Hutchcc.
• Provide guidance and support to students enrolled in early college programs, helping them navigate their academic paths and addressing any challenges they may face.
• Conduct workshops and informational sessions for students and parents to explain the early college concept, benefits, and application processes.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of early college programs, collecting data to assess student outcomes and program success.
• Collaborate with faculty to ensure that course offerings are relevant and meet the needs of the students and the community.
• Serve as a liaison between Hutchcc and local high schools, facilitating communication and collaboration on educational initiatives.
• Assist in the development of marketing materials and outreach strategies to promote early college programs within the community.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with trends in early college education and best practices.
• Engage with community stakeholders to foster partnerships that support the early college initiative.
• Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting program achievements and areas for improvement.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
• A minimum of three years of experience in educational coordination, counseling, or administration, preferably in a high school or community college setting.
• Strong understanding of the early college model and its benefits for students.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse groups.
• Proven organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with data analysis and reporting to assess program effectiveness and student outcomes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and creativity.

Nice to have

• Experience in curriculum development or instructional design.
• Knowledge of local educational policies and regulations related to dual enrollment and early college programs.
• Previous experience working with underrepresented student populations.
• Familiarity with community outreach and engagement strategies.
• Proficiency in using educational technology tools and platforms.

Skills & tools

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and a deep understanding of educational systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) will be beneficial. The role may also require the use of data management software to track student progress and program metrics.

Practical notes

This position is based in Hutchinson, Newton, and McPherson, Kansas, and may require travel between local high schools and the college campus. The salary for this role will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
