What you'll do

• Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement innovative educational programs that meet the needs of our students and community.
• Assist in the design and delivery of curriculum, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and accreditation standards.
• Provide academic advising and support to students, helping them navigate their educational paths and achieve their academic objectives.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations of student performance, utilizing data to inform instructional practices and improve learning outcomes.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to strategic planning initiatives that enhance the overall educational experience at Bamboohr.
• Engage in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education and instructional technology.
• Foster relationships with community partners to create internship and job placement opportunities for students.
• Serve as a mentor to students, promoting personal growth and encouraging involvement in campus activities and organizations.
• Develop and maintain effective communication channels with students, faculty, and administration to ensure a cohesive educational environment.
• Participate in recruitment efforts to attract prospective students and promote the benefits of attending Bamboohr.
• Contribute to grant writing and fundraising efforts to secure resources for program development and student support services.
• Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the college community, ensuring that all students feel valued and supported.

Requirements

• A master's degree in a relevant field is preferred; a bachelor's degree with significant experience may be considered.
• At least three years of experience in higher education, preferably in an academic advising or instructional role.
• Strong understanding of student development theories and best practices in academic advising.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues.
• Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems to enhance the teaching and learning experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also demonstrating initiative and independence.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
• Experience with data analysis and the ability to use data to inform decision-making processes.
• Knowledge of current trends and issues in higher education, particularly in relation to student success and retention.

Nice to have

• Experience with grant writing or fundraising in an educational setting.
• Familiarity with curriculum development and assessment practices.
• Previous involvement in community outreach or partnership development.
• Certification in academic advising or related professional development.
• Bilingual skills or experience working with diverse populations.

Skills & tools

Candidates should be proficient in various software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and have experience with learning management systems such as Canvas or Blackboard. Familiarity with data analysis tools and student information systems will be advantageous. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for managing multiple responsibilities effectively.
