Position Overview
The Senior Product Manager, Pharma Analytics Products will lead the full lifecycle of analytics applications for pharmaceutical and life science customers within the company's Analytics & Behavior Change organization. This role combines product ownership, data fluency, and healthcare domain expertise to convert complex healthcare information into actionable tools. You will guide cross-functional teams, mentor peers, and ensure solutions meet both business objectives and user needs. The position is based in New York City, operates as a contract-to-hire role, and offers a compensation package of one hundred eighty thousand USD.
Primary Responsibilities
You will gather detailed requirements from commercial and clinical teams to shape product direction and define success metrics. Translating these inputs into user stories, acceptance criteria, and comprehensive product specifications will guide data science and engineering teams. Collaboration with data engineering, data science, and design will turn requirements into viable concepts and technical solutions. You will lead the design and development of backend data and analytics architecture, focusing on scalability, reliability, and performance. Facilitating trade-off discussions among stakeholders will balance delivery speed, system robustness, and solution quality.
Conducting user research and usability testing will inform product decisions and validate key hypotheses. You will own technical documentation, including data flow diagrams and architecture specifications, to ensure clarity for future teams. Communicating product updates and gathering feedback from business stakeholders will keep initiatives aligned with goals. Championing Agile methodologies and best practices will optimize team performance. Mentoring and guiding junior product managers will strengthen the overall capability of the organization. Contributing to product strategy and roadmap development will ensure alignment with long-term business objectives.
Required Qualifications
You bring five or more years of experience in product management, with a focus on analytics or data-driven products. You possess five or more years of strong verbal and written communication, converting data and insights into clear narratives for diverse audiences. You have three or more years collaborating cross-functionally with engineering and data science teams to deliver impactful analytics tools. You understand healthcare information flows and analytical patterns specific to the pharmaceutical environment. You have hands-on experience building data visualization using platforms such as Tableau. You work comfortably in Agile setups, managing work through JIRA and Confluence tools.
Preferred Qualifications
You have experience supporting commercial, clinical, or market access analytics in pharmaceutical or life science companies. Knowledge of medical and pharmacy claims data and how analysts use these datasets is an advantage. Familiarity with data science concepts, including predictive modeling and machine learning, is valued. Demonstrated proficiency in SQL is required for exploring and validating data.
Day-to-Day Focus
You will orchestrate intake sessions with commercial and clinical groups to clarify objectives and constraints. Creating story maps and detailed acceptance criteria will guide engineering and science teams through implementation. Working alongside data experts, you will architect backend structures to ensure performance and reliability grow in tandem. You will visualize insights in tools like Tableau while validating concepts through observation and testing. Facilitating discussions that balance delivery pace, system robustness, and solution quality will keep outcomes sustainable. Documenting data flows and design decisions will provide context for future teams and initiatives. Coordinating with business partners will keep them informed of roadmap updates and capture feedback on new capabilities.
