About the role
You will spearhead the investigation, selection, and evaluation of cutting-edge test equipment and methodologies as part of the company's Design/Development Control Process for future automotive products. This role places you at the center of optimizing test quality and test costs for flagship automotive System on Chips that integrate CPU, cache, memory, high-speed interfaces, AI, video, functional safety, and security. You will own the development of test technologies while simultaneously managing comprehensive solutions that balance equipment selection and cost management for next-generation vehicles. Your work will directly differentiate the company from competitors by ensuring competitiveness and advancing the Design Inventory to a superior market position. As the current single dedicated engineer faces resource constraints, this position is critical for securing the evaluation and development of next-generation products and enabling the transfer of technology and know-how through on-the-job training. You will play a vital role in directly securing future profits and will be highly valued by related departments for your expertise and leadership. This position requires a broad knowledge base spanning test technology, product understanding, equipment, and cost management to drive strategic initiatives in the automotive sector's New Product Introduction area. You will be instrumental in planning and executing long-term test strategies that align with products to be released several years from now.

What you'll do
Evaluate emerging test equipment technologies and methodologies to identify optimal solutions for future automotive semiconductor products.
Develop and implement advanced test methodologies that address challenges in the New Product Introduction area for large-scale automotive chips.
Analyze test quality and test costs trade-offs to optimize the Design/Development Control Process for products planned several years into the future.
Select and validate test equipment that ensures competitiveness and elevates the Design Inventory to a superior position.
Establish robust test methodologies that integrate product understanding, equipment capabilities, and cost management principles.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into test strategies that secure future profitability.
Lead the evaluation and development of next-generation test technologies as the single current resource becomes a bottleneck for growth.
Drive the transfer of technology and know-how through structured on-the-job training for incoming team members.
Contribute to the development of comprehensive solutions that balance technical innovation with budget constraints in automotive testing.
Support the planning and execution of long-term test strategies aligned with multi-year product roadmaps in the semiconductor industry.
Champion the adoption of best practices in test jig core technology to enhance design for testability and yield.
Investigate new approaches to test automation and data analysis to improve efficiency and effectiveness in high-volume production environments.
Provide technical leadership in assessing the suitability of new equipment for complex automotive System on Chips integrating CPU, cache, memory, and AI functions.
Mentor junior engineers by sharing deep knowledge in test technology, product architecture, and cost optimization strategies.
Requirements
You must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
You must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in test engineering, test jig development, or semiconductor test automation.
You must demonstrate extensive knowledge of semiconductor testing methodologies and fault models.
You must have hands-on experience with automated test equipment (ATE) and test program development.
You must be proficient in programming languages commonly used in test engineering environments such as C++, Python, or similar.
You must have a deep understanding of automotive semiconductor architectures including CPUs, caches, memory interfaces, and high-speed serial interfaces.
You must have experience with functional safety standards relevant to automotive electronics such as ISO 26262.
You must possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex test failures in advanced semiconductor devices.
Nice to have
Experience with AI and machine learning accelerators in automotive SoCs is preferred.
Familiarity with high-bandwidth memory interfaces and heterogeneous integration technologies is advantageous.
Knowledge of security architectures and intrusion detection in automotive semiconductor designs is a plus.
Experience in cost analysis and cost of quality methodologies in semiconductor manufacturing is beneficial.
