Chief of Staff to SVP
Job description
About the role
This position serves as the strategic right hand to the Senior Vice President leading Healthcare Analytics at CVS Health. The role owns the financial metrics, operational workflows, and communication frameworks that define how the organization measures and shares its impact. You will be responsible for ensuring that the portfolio remains funded, accountable, and aligned with strategic objectives through rigorous oversight and clear narrative building. The position requires a high level of comfort navigating the intersection of innovation, data-driven strategy, financial management, and executive storytelling. You will operate within one of the largest analytics organizations in the healthcare sector, driving clarity and consistency across complex initiatives. Success in this role depends on the ability to translate ambiguity into structured plans that senior leaders can act upon with confidence. You will be a key enabler of disciplined execution and a trusted advisor to the SVP in navigating the evolving landscape of AI-powered healthcare analytics.
Key facts
What you'll do
Drive the financial stewardship of the Healthcare Analytics portfolio by managing capital and operating budgets, tracking value realization and ROI against committed initiatives, and constructing the financial narrative for budget reviews with business partners.
Establish and maintain the operational rhythm of the business by running the recruiting pipeline, overseeing effective onboarding for new colleagues, organizing leadership onsite workshops, and owning the meeting cadence to drive transparency and engagement across teams.
Produce executive-ready materials that represent the organization's work with partners and stakeholders, both internal and external, including crafting the agenda and content for townhalls and leadership updates.
Partner with senior leadership on annual and mid-year strategic planning cycles, including goal setting and tracking progress against commitments through scorecard updates and metrics management.
Run talent management processes such as talent reviews and calibration, analyzing Colleague Engagement survey results, and driving resulting action items to support ongoing talent growth and development.
Serve as a connective point with peer Chiefs of Staff and the broader Digital, Data, Analytics and Technology organization to share best practices, coordinate updates, and ensure alignment on cross-functional priorities.
Identify and clear blockers that slow initiatives down, escalating appropriately to the SVP when necessary to keep projects moving forward efficiently.
Leverage process discipline and creative solutioning to build systems that solve recurring problems once, rather than addressing the same issues ad hoc every quarter.
Utilize strong executive presence in writing and verbal communication to lead with compelling messages and inspiring stories that highlight the impact of analytics initiatives.
Maintain a high level of understanding regarding AI advancements to enable effective storytelling and to support the adoption of AI tools that augment team capabilities and efficiency.
Exercise judgment to determine what requires the SVP's attention and what can be handled independently, ensuring optimal use of executive time and resources.
Operate effectively in a fast-moving, matrixed organization without a dedicated team to delegate to, demonstrating ownership and resilience in dynamic environments.
Requirements
You must bring 10 years of total business experience with a proven track record of managing budgets, building operational processes, and producing executive-level deliverables.
Demonstrate strong financial acumen, including direct experience tracking ROI or value realization on initiatives to ensure that investments are justified and measurable.
Show evidence of managing structured processes such as recruiting pipelines, onboarding workflows, or cross-functional meeting cadences with consistency and attention to detail.
Possess excellent written communication skills, with concrete examples of executive-ready materials produced with minimal senior leader input and high impact.
Be comfortable operating in a fast-moving, matrixed organization where priorities shift and autonomy is required without a dedicated team to delegate responsibilities to.
Have familiarity with a product-oriented way of working, including how teams organize around products, ownership models, and delivery frameworks.
Preferably have healthcare or insurance industry experience that provides context for the specific challenges and opportunities within these sectors.
Hold a Bachelor's degree as a minimum educational requirement, with an MBA or master's degree in a quantitative or business field being preferred.
