About the role
HomeLight is on the lookout for a strategic finance expert to join our dynamic team in San Francisco. This position will involve close collaboration with our executive leadership team and the Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A). The individual will play a crucial role in shaping corporate strategy, managing relationships within capital markets, and laying the analytical groundwork for our financial and operational expansion. A proactive mindset is essential for effective modeling and cross-departmental collaboration, which will be key in influencing significant business decisions.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Oversee the annual budgeting cycle and ensure the upkeep of financial models for monthly reporting processes.
- Create financial updates and strategic presentations aimed at the Board of Directors and support investor fundraising initiatives.
- Collaborate with the CFO on capital market endeavors, including venture debt and warehouse debt, while leading the necessary due diligence processes.
- Work alongside teams in Engineering, Product, Go-To-Market (GTM), and Business Operations to assess unit economics, evaluate new product launches, and optimize resource allocation.
- Develop and sustain dashboards that monitor key operational and financial performance metrics.
- Offer financial insights and recommendations grounded in a deep understanding of our business model and product offerings.
- Conduct various strategic projects and financial analyses as requested by the CEO, COO, and CFO.
- Engage in cross-functional projects to enhance financial efficiency and operational effectiveness across the organization.
- Analyze market trends to inform strategic decision-making and identify growth opportunities.
- Support the finance team in preparing for quarterly and annual audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
- Mentor junior finance team members, fostering their professional growth and development within the organization.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, STEM, or a related discipline is required.
- A minimum of 4 to 6 years of experience in corporate finance or investment banking is essential.
- Advanced skills in Excel and financial modeling are crucial for success in this role.
- The ability to convey complex data in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences is necessary.
- Experience working with senior executives and presenting financial information to high-level stakeholders is important.
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and organizational skills are required to excel in this position.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team is essential.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with NetSuite ERP software would be beneficial.
- Experience with the Aleph data platform is a plus.
- Previous involvement in strategic financial planning and analysis within a fast-paced environment is advantageous.
