About the role
At Hiive, we are revolutionizing the secondary market for pre-IPO venture-backed shares by creating a seamless platform for buyers, sellers, and issuers. We are on the lookout for an intermediate frontend engineer to join our dynamic product team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing our client-facing interfaces, ensuring they are not only functional but also user-friendly and visually appealing.

What you'll do
- Design and implement mobile-responsive user interfaces utilizing React and TypeScript to ensure a smooth user experience across devices.
- Oversee the entire frontend development lifecycle, focusing on aspects such as styling, performance enhancement, and the creation of reusable UI components.
- Collaborate closely with the founders and the engineering team to influence product features and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the company.
- Adapt to a dynamic work environment where priorities may shift rapidly, requiring flexibility and quick thinking.
- Convert design mockups from Figma into functional, high-quality code that meets our standards for performance and usability.
- Work in tandem with product designers to enhance UI/UX elements, ensuring that our platform is both aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate.
- Participate in code reviews to maintain high code quality and share best practices with team members.
- Engage in troubleshooting and debugging to resolve issues promptly, ensuring a seamless user experience.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in frontend development to continuously improve our platform.
- Document your work and contribute to the knowledge base of the team, helping to onboard new members effectively.
- Assist in the integration of backend services and APIs, ensuring smooth communication between the frontend and backend systems.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in developing user interfaces using React.
- Strong command of TypeScript, with the ability to write clean and maintainable code.
- Familiarity with component libraries, particularly Chakra UI, to enhance development efficiency.
- Proven experience in integrating authenticated backend APIs into frontend applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to overcoming challenges in the development process.
Nice to have
- Experience with GraphQL APIs and Apollo Client, which would enhance our data-fetching capabilities.
- Background in backend development, particularly with Elixir, to facilitate better collaboration with backend teams.
- Knowledge of testing frameworks and methodologies to ensure the reliability of the codebase.
