Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager, Indirect

About the role

You will design and execute sourcing strategies for indirect categories such as Professional Services, Software/SaaS, IT, Facilities, and Capital Equipment. You will lead end-to-end sourcing programs, negotiate complex agreements, manage supplier onboarding, and partner cross-functionally to support manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, IT, Legal, and Operations. You will build scalable procurement processes, establish performance metrics, and use data and market intelligence to drive continuous improvement and support infrastructure expansion and CapEx initiatives.

What you'll do

• Conduct risk assessments and develop sourcing strategies across indirect procurement categories, including Professional Services, Software/SaaS, IT, Facilities, and Capital Equipment, to align with company growth objectives.
• Manage end-to-end sourcing activities such as supplier selection, RFP and RFQ management, negotiations, contracting, and supplier onboarding to ensure robust agreements and smooth implementation.
• Drive supplier negotiations focused on cost, scalability, risk mitigation, quality, and long-term partnerships, balancing commercial terms with operational requirements.
• Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, IT, Legal, and Operations teams to support company priorities and resolve procurement constraints.
• Build scalable procurement processes and category management strategies that support rapid organizational growth and increased operational complexity.
• Establish supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement across cost, delivery, and operational efficiency through monitoring and iterative adjustments.
• Support infrastructure expansion, CapEx initiatives, and operational build-outs by identifying sourcing solutions that meet technical, quality, and timeline requirements.
• Identify opportunities for procurement optimization, spend visibility improvements, and process automation to enhance efficiency and transparency.
• Influence stakeholders and leadership through data-driven sourcing recommendations and market intelligence to guide strategic decisions.
• Manage multiple sourcing initiatives simultaneously under aggressive timelines, prioritizing efforts to meet business needs and deadlines.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, Finance, or a related field.
• Bring 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain within a high-growth or technical environment.
• Demonstrate strong experience managing indirect spend categories such as Professional Services, Software/SaaS, IT, Facilities, or CapEx.
• Show a proven track record of building sourcing strategies and procurement processes within startup or scaling organizations.
• Exhibit strong commercial negotiation and supplier management experience involving complex agreements and contracts.
• Have experience partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, IT, and Legal organizations.
• Possess strong analytical, operational, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Operate autonomously and drive initiatives with minimal oversight while managing multiple priorities.
• Manage multiple sourcing initiatives simultaneously under aggressive timelines.
• Comply with U.S. export control regulations, requiring the hire to be a U.S. person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.62 or eligible for deemed export licensing.

Nice to have

• Possess aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, robotics, automotive, or hardware startup experience.
• Have experience supporting organizations transitioning from R&D into scaled production environments.
• Understand supplier industrialization, manufacturing scale-up, and infrastructure expansion efforts.
• Have experience supporting sourcing initiatives within regulated or security-conscious environments.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of ERP, procurement, and spend management systems.
• Have experience sourcing Software/SaaS, cloud infrastructure, technical consulting, or enterprise IT services.
• Hold an MBA, CPSM, CPM, CIPS, or other related procurement certifications.
• Experience developing procurement KPIs, dashboards, and operational reporting frameworks.
• Show demonstrated success influencing cross-functional teams in fast-paced, execution-focused environments.
