As a Superintendent in the Water/Wastewater division at Harpergc, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operations and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment facilities. What you'll do
- Lead and manage daily operations of water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Oversee maintenance activities, including scheduling, resource allocation, and performance evaluations to ensure optimal functionality of equipment and systems.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and safety within the facilities.
- Coordinate with engineering teams on capital improvement projects, providing insights on operational needs and constraints.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of facilities to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to safety standards.
- Manage budgets and financial forecasting for operational expenses, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Train, mentor, and supervise staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, ensuring timely reporting and compliance with all environmental standards.
- Collaborate with community stakeholders to address concerns and promote public awareness regarding water quality and sustainability initiatives.
- Analyze operational data and prepare reports for senior management, highlighting performance metrics and areas for potential enhancement.
- Implement emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for potential incidents affecting water quality or service delivery.
- Stay updated on industry trends and technological advancements to recommend innovative solutions for operational challenges.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in water/wastewater operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, wastewater management, and regulatory compliance.
- Proven experience in project management and team leadership.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using computer software for data analysis, reporting, and project management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various job sites as needed.
- Certification in water/wastewater operations is preferred.
