What you'll do

• Execute a variety of tasks across multiple trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and general maintenance, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
• Collaborate with project managers and team members to understand project requirements and timelines, contributing to effective planning and execution.
• Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment and facilities, identifying potential issues and implementing solutions proactively.
• Assist in the installation and repair of fixtures, fittings, and other components, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and best practices to minimize risks.
• Document work performed and materials used, providing accurate records for inventory and project tracking.
• Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and stay updated with industry trends and technologies.
• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client inquiries and concerns with professionalism and expertise.
• Work collaboratively with other tradespeople and contractors on-site, fostering a team-oriented atmosphere that promotes efficiency and quality.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise, demonstrating problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist in the procurement of materials and tools necessary for projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a craftsman or in a similar role, with a minimum of 5 years in the construction or maintenance industry.
• Strong knowledge of various trades, including but not limited to carpentry, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with team members and clients.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel to job sites as needed.
• Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects safely.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and practices in the construction industry.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and a positive attitude.

Nice to have

• Certifications in specific trades (e.g., electrical, plumbing, HVAC) are a plus.
• Experience with project management software or tools is beneficial.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a craftsman capacity.
• Knowledge of sustainable building practices and materials.
• Familiarity with local building codes and regulations in South Carolina.
