As a Field Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing engineering tasks on-site, ensuring that projects are completed on time and to the highest standards. What you'll do

• Oversee the execution of engineering projects on-site, ensuring compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
• Collaborate with project managers to develop project schedules, monitor progress, and address any issues that arise during construction.
• Conduct regular site inspections to assess work quality, safety compliance, and adherence to project timelines.
• Provide technical support and guidance to contractors and subcontractors, ensuring that all work meets engineering standards.
• Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of project activities, including reports, change orders, and daily logs.
• Assist in the development of project budgets and resource allocation, ensuring efficient use of materials and labor.
• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to communicate project updates, address concerns, and incorporate feedback into ongoing work.
• Participate in project meetings, providing insights and recommendations based on field observations and engineering principles.
• Identify potential risks and challenges on-site, proposing solutions to mitigate issues before they escalate.
• Ensure that all safety protocols are followed, promoting a culture of safety and compliance among team members and contractors.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and knowledge in the field.
• Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices to enhance project outcomes and improve engineering processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a field engineering role, preferably within the commercial construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods, and safety regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
• Proficient in using engineering software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar applications.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment, fostering positive relationships with colleagues and clients.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Experience with project management software, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
• Familiarity with sustainable building practices and green construction standards.
• Previous experience in a client-facing role, enhancing customer satisfaction and project delivery.

Practical notes
