What you'll do
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
- Collaborate with project stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables that align with company goals.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, tracking progress and making adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines.
- Conduct regular project meetings to communicate updates, address challenges, and foster collaboration among team members.
- Prepare and present project documentation, including reports, proposals, and technical specifications, to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions and ensure successful outcomes.
- Work closely with engineering teams to provide technical guidance and support, ensuring that designs meet project requirements and specifications.
- Manage project budgets, including tracking expenses and forecasting future costs to ensure financial accountability.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, tools, and methodologies used in project execution.
- Mentor junior engineers and team members, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and advance their careers.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly to maintain strong relationships and satisfaction.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in project engineering or management within the engineering sector.
- Proven track record of successfully managing engineering projects from inception to completion.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or similar applications.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards relevant to engineering projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or relevant certifications in project management (e.g., PMP).
- Experience in a specific engineering discipline such as mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering.
- Knowledge of Lean or Agile methodologies and their application in project management.
- Previous experience in a client-facing role, enhancing customer relationships and satisfaction.
- Familiarity with CAD software and other engineering design tools.
