Key facts
What you'll do
- Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, providing insights into financial performance and variance analysis to senior management.
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and maintain internal controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Manage cash flow and working capital, optimizing liquidity while minimizing financial risk.
- Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making, including cost analysis, pricing strategies, and profitability assessments.
- Lead the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely completion of all audit requirements.
- Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in finance and accounting to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
- Prepare tax filings and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Implement and manage financial software systems to streamline accounting processes and improve reporting capabilities.
- Act as a key advisor to the executive team on financial matters, providing insights and recommendations to drive business performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or CPA designation is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations, with a proven track record of compliance and risk management.
- Proficient in financial software and ERP systems; experience with [specific software used by the company] is a plus.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
