As the Vice President of the Project Management Office (PMO) at Hamilton, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and enhancing project management practices across the organization. What you'll do
- Lead the Project Management Office, providing strategic direction and oversight for all project management activities within the organization.
- Develop and implement project management methodologies, standards, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across all projects.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define project priorities and align them with the company's strategic objectives.
- Oversee the project portfolio management process, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively and that projects are prioritized based on business value.
- Monitor project performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, providing regular updates to stakeholders on project status and outcomes.
- Facilitate project kickoff meetings and ensure that project teams are equipped with the necessary tools and resources to succeed.
- Mentor and develop project managers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing issues that may impact project delivery and stakeholder satisfaction.
- Drive the adoption of project management software and tools, ensuring that all team members are proficient in their use.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to capture lessons learned and integrate feedback into future project planning and execution.
- Champion a culture of innovation within the PMO, encouraging teams to explore new methodologies and technologies that can enhance project delivery.
Requirements
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a PMO.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects in a fast-paced environment, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall, with relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2).
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate diverse teams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Experience with project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, Jira, or Asana.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic and changing environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- A bachelor's degree in business administration, project management, or a related field; a master's degree is preferred.

- Experience in the insurance or reinsurance sectors, with a deep understanding of industry-specific challenges and opportunities.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance issues related to project management in the financial services sector.
