About the role
Halter is seeking an exceptional growth leader to take on the role of Head of North Island. This position involves leading a dedicated team of over 30 sales representatives, driving growth in one of New Zealand's most critical sectors - agriculture. You will oversee the entire customer journey, from initial sales to ongoing account management. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of commercial acumen, charisma, and a competitive spirit, with a proven track record of achieving ambitious targets. Key facts
What you'll do
- Lead the sales strategy for the North Island, establishing headcount requirements and collaborating with Halter leadership to set ambitious targets for your team.
- Manage weekly inputs from your team, establishing a consistent cadence, tracking KPIs, and ensuring robust pipeline management.
- Coach and mentor your team to enhance their skills continuously, adapting existing processes to create effective training programs that align with company goals.
- Oversee team management by setting clear performance expectations, providing regular feedback, and leading hiring and performance evaluations.
- Ensure a seamless customer experience throughout the customer lifecycle, monitoring satisfaction levels and implementing initiatives for improvement.
- Collaborate closely with the Account Management team to resolve issues and promote customer retention and growth.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive regional strategy aimed at expanding market presence and achieving growth targets.
- Identify new market opportunities and spearhead initiatives to increase Halter's market share in the North Island.
- Work cross-functionally with senior leaders and product teams to ensure exceptional outcomes for the region.
- Build and maintain industry relationships to enhance Halter's brand presence and reputation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in driving growth for new and existing businesses, with a strong record of developing market strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex sales cycles and expand customer value over time.
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with a focus on team collaboration and development.
- A genuine passion for supporting farmers and understanding the agricultural sector, with relevant experience being a plus.
- A positive attitude and a collaborative mindset, capable of overcoming challenges effectively.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating high levels of autonomy.
