Financial Operations Analyst
Job description
About the role
You will own the end-to-end accuracy and efficiency of Halter's core financial operations including customer accounts, supplier payments, and employee expenses. This role requires you to be the primary problem solver who removes blockers across the business by resolving billing disputes and ensuring smooth accounts receivable workflows. You will partner directly with Sales and Customer teams to protect the customer experience while maintaining rigorous financial controls. You will act as a trusted point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders, driving timely payments and onboarding. Your work will directly influence month-end close integrity and the reliability of our financial data. You will identify operational gaps and design process improvements that scale with Halter's rapid growth. If you thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments and care deeply about doing things right, this role is for you.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Customers: Take ownership of the accounts receivable process, from invoicing through to collections, resolving billing queries quickly and professionally to protect the customer relationship.
- Suppliers: Support the Financial Accountant on accounts payable activities, including processing invoices, managing supplier onboarding, reconciling accounts, and serving as a reliable point of contact for suppliers.
- Employees: Own the employee expense process, reviewing claims, reconciling corporate cards, processing employee reimbursements, and maintaining high standards on details without slowing the business.
- Cross-functional support: Become the first port of call for finance questions across Sales, Customer, People, and other teams, delivering clear, fast, and helpful responses every time.
- Process improvement: Continuously spot gaps in workflows, fix clunky procedures, and build better systems so that finance operations improve rather than just sustain themselves.
- Month-end: Actively support month-end close activities related to AR, AP, and expenses, ensuring financial records are accurate, timely, and audit-ready.
- Vendor management: Coordinate payment runs and manage aging payables to maintain strong relationships with suppliers while optimizing cash flow.
- Reporting: Maintain and enhance key operational reports, ensuring data integrity and providing insights that help the business make faster, better decisions.
- Compliance: Uphold financial policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements in every transaction you process.
- Collaboration: Work side by side with cross-functional stakeholders to understand needs, translate them into finance operations actions, and close the loop.
- Systems: Leverage accounting tools and spreadsheets to automate manual tasks, reduce errors, and improve the reliability of operational workflows.
- Ownership: Drive initiatives end to end, taking responsibility for outcomes and ensuring issues are resolved, not just escalated.
