About the role
You will partner directly with Operations and Manufacturing Leadership to execute the daily Environmental, Health, and Safety strategy across the fabrication floor. You will own the proactive identification of workplace hazards before incidents occur and drive corrective actions to eliminate reoccurrence. In this position, you will coach employees on safe work practices and reinforce a culture where safety is a shared responsibility. You will ensure strict adherence to OSHA regulations and all company safety policies during the second shift operations. You will serve as a visible presence on the production floor, working alongside manufacturing teams to embed safe behaviors. You will collaborate with Human Resources to support incident investigations and track safety metrics for continuous improvement. You will act as a key liaison between the shop floor and leadership to communicate safety performance and regulatory requirements. You will champion continuous safety improvement by analyzing trends and implementing practical solutions that increase reliability and protect the team.

What you'll do
Coordinate the implementation of the Environmental, Health, and Safety program specific to the second shift manufacturing schedule.
Perform regular safety audits and inspections of machinery, tools, and personal protective equipment to verify compliance with established standards.
Investigate all incidents, near misses, and safety observations to determine root causes and develop actionable preventative measures.
Lead toolbox talks and safety training sessions tailored to the specific tasks and risks encountered during the second shift.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure safe work practices are followed during the fabrication, assembly, and integration of custom enclosures and skids.
Monitor and report safety performance metrics to identify trends and drive targeted improvements across the production floor.
Work closely with Human Resources to manage workers' compensation claims and ensure accurate documentation for all safety-related incidents.
Partner with Engineering and Production Leadership to integrate safety controls into standard operating procedures and project workflows.
Maintain strict adherence to all OSHA regulations and company policies regarding occupational health and workplace safety.
Promote a culture of safety excellence by recognizing safe behaviors and coaching employees on hazard recognition and mitigation.
Ensure all safety documentation, logs, and records are complete, accurate, and up to date for regulatory compliance.
Act as a hands-on role that requires frequent movement throughout the facility to observe operations and engage with team members.
Support the continuous improvement of safety programs by evaluating the effectiveness of controls and proposing data-driven adjustments.
Serve as a trusted resource for employees seeking guidance on safety protocols, equipment usage, and compliance requirements.
Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age to operate around heavy machinery and hazardous materials common to the manufacturing environment.
Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or safety training is highly valued.
Must have verifiable experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment where safety protocols are strictly enforced.
Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety compliance and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended shifts during the second shift period.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment where production targets and safety standards must be met simultaneously.
Must have the right to refuse unsafe work without fear of retaliation and actively participate in safety committees or working groups as needed.
Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require immediate sponsorship for employment authorization.
Nice to have
Previous experience with OSHA standards and manufacturing safety regulations.
Knowledge of safety management systems and incident investigation methodologies.
Experience with metal fabrication, mechanical assembly, or industrial production processes.
Understanding of confined space entry, lockout/tagout, and personal protective equipment requirements.
Familiarity with ERP or MES systems used for tracking production and safety data.
Practical notes
This is a full-time position aligned with the second shift schedule to ensure coverage during peak production hours.
The role requires travel only within the facility and adjacent production areas as part of normal safety duties.
