About the role
The Quality Engineer at GTI owns the end to end integrity of our quality management system, translating customer expectations and regulatory requirements into executable processes that every team can follow. You will design and maintain procedures, work instructions, and records so that each fabrication step is controlled, traceable, and auditable. This role owns the discipline of first time quality, driving metrics that show how well we prevent defects rather than simply find them. You will partner closely with engineering, production, and supply chain to align methods, standards, and documentation with project needs and customer commitments. You will champion data driven decisions, using quality metrics to highlight trends, guide improvements, and demonstrate the effectiveness of our systems. You will lead investigations when issues arise, coordinating root cause analysis and corrective actions so that problems are resolved and recurrence is prevented. You will ensure that our quality practices remain aligned with ISO 9001 and other applicable requirements, maintaining a management system that supports growth without compromising control. In this position, you will be a visible advocate for safety, quality, customer obsession, speed, and agility, embodying the values that define how GTI delivers turn key solutions.

What you'll do
Establish and maintain documented quality processes, procedures, and work instructions that reflect current practices and support consistent execution across all fabrication activities.
Perform detailed process reviews to identify gaps, verify controls, and recommend improvements that strengthen compliance, reduce variability, and protect the GTI brand.
Develop and manage quality metrics and dashboards, collecting, verifying, and analyzing data from production and inspections to highlight trends, risks, and opportunities.
Lead structured Root Cause Corrective Action activities, defining problem statements, verifying effectiveness, and ensuring that actions prevent recurrence across similar processes.
Plan and participate in internal audits of the QMS, evaluating adherence to procedures, effectiveness of controls, and alignment with ISO 9001 requirements.
Coordinate with engineering and design teams to ensure that design reviews, change management, and document revisions are executed rigorously and communicated clearly.
Partner with production and operations to translate customer requirements into control plans, check methods, and in process verification activities that are practical and enforceable.
Oversee supplier quality activities, including reviews of key vendors, verification of incoming materials, and follow up on nonconformances that could affect build integrity.
Support the implementation of lean tools and continuous improvement projects, using structured methods to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and improve first time quality.
Maintain and manage document control, ensuring that drawings, specifications, forms, and records are current, accessible, and properly approved.
Assist in preparation for external audits and certifications, coordinating evidence, clarifying procedures, and confirming that quality records demonstrate compliance.
Define and track key quality indicators, sharing results with cross functional teams to drive actions that improve efficiency, reduce risk, and support on time delivery.
Requirements

Apply risk based thinking to identify, evaluate, and control quality risks across processes, using tools such as failure modes and effects analysis to guide decisions.
Verify that work processes follow documented procedures, confirming that steps are completed as defined and that records accurately reflect what was done.
Use structured problem solving methods to investigate nonconformances, validate corrective actions, and confirm that issues are resolved in a timely manner.
Ensure that data used for quality decisions is accurate, complete, and traceable, maintaining the integrity of records that support product verification and compliance.
Collaborate effectively with cross functional teams, communicating clearly about quality expectations, findings, and required actions in a professional manner.
Adhere to customer and regulatory requirements, interpreting specifications, standards, and contractual obligations to ensure that products and processes meet defined needs.
Demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational skills, managing multiple priorities, documents, and deadlines without compromising accuracy or completeness.
Nice to have
Experience with ISO 9001 and related quality management system requirements, including documentation, process control, and continuous improvement.
Background in a contract manufacturing, fabrication, or engineered systems environment where quality processes support production and engineering activities.
Familiarity with quality tools such as statistical process control, sampling plans, and data analysis techniques used to monitor and improve processes.
Knowledge of risk based thinking and formal methods like failure modes and effects analysis to evaluate and control product and process risks.
Experience supporting audit activities, including internal audits, supplier audits, and preparation of evidence for external certification or customer reviews.
Understanding of manufacturing processes, metrology, and inspection methods relevant to mechanical assemblies, enclosures, and skids in industrial and infrastructure applications.
Practical notes
This is a full time position based in Goodyear, AZ.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship at this time.
No relocation assistance or visa sponsorship is available for this role.
The selected candidate should be prepared for occasional in person collaboration at the Goodyear facility as needed for audits, reviews, or project work.
