What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive discovery through market research, competitive intelligence gathering, and in-depth customer interviews to identify latent needs and validate strategic hypotheses.
- Design and execute rapid experimentation frameworks, including prototypes and minimum viable products, to test concepts de-risk initiatives before significant investment.
- Analyze complex datasets and qualitative feedback to inform usage patterns, identify friction points, and drive iterative improvements that enhance product adoption and retention.
- Synthesize inputs from diverse stakeholders to construct and maintain a strategic product roadmap, balancing competing priorities across engineering capacity, design constraints, and business imperatives.
- Define and own key performance indicators and success metrics, establishing clear benchmarks and monitoring progress to evaluate the impact of product changes.
- Identify, assess, and proactively manage cross-functional risks and dependencies, developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans to keep initiatives on track.
- Lead and facilitate collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, and data specialists, to ensure efficient execution and timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Finance to develop go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and position messaging that align with unit economics and target customer segments.
- Champion data-driven decision-making by implementing robust instrumentation and analytics practices that provide actionable insights into user behavior and product health.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to determine potential applications and advantages for the Greenhouse product suite and competitive positioning.
- Represent the product voice in executive discussions, providing evidence-based recommendations and long-term strategic guidance on product evolution.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and experimentation within the product team, encouraging hypothesis-driven development and validated learning.
- Manage stakeholder expectations through clear communication, transparent prioritization, and consistent updates on product progress and trade-offs.
- Ensure product deliverables meet stringent quality standards and regulatory requirements relevant to enterprise software and human capital management markets.
- Drive the definition of release criteria and success measures for each product launch, ensuring alignment across all operational functions.
Requirements
The candidate must bring a minimum of eight years of cumulative professional experience in product management, with at least three years dedicated to taking products from initial concept through market launch and commercialization. This background must predominantly exist within B2B SaaS environments or heavily regulated sectors such as financial technology, human resources technology, or healthcare, where compliance and security considerations are paramount. Demonstrated experience building products within enterprise software contexts, specifically involving hiring, recruitment, and applicant tracking systems, is strongly preferred. The individual must thrive in environments characterized by ambiguity, where problems are not clearly defined and the solution path requires exploration and adaptation. They must apply lean startup methodologies, rigorous experimental design, and advanced data instrumentation to formulate hypotheses, run tests, and guide iterative product development. The ability to work effectively with engineering teams is essential, requiring a deep understanding of technical constraints, trade-off analysis, and the capacity to influence implementation decisions through logic and shared objectives. A background in software engineering is recognized as a valuable asset, though not a mandatory prerequisite for this role. The professional must be comfortable utilizing and deriving insights from complex systems and tools, including but not limited to Greenhouse platforms, SQL, Python, Tableau, JIRA, and Confluence. They must possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of distilling complex information into clear strategic narratives and actionable plans. Strong written and verbal communication skills are required to articulate vision, negotiate priorities, and build alignment across executive leadership and cross-functional partners. The candidate must exhibit a high degree of ownership, self-motivation, and resilience, consistently following through on commitments and driving projects to completion in a fast-paced, dynamic setting.
