About the role
Gopuff is on the lookout for an Employee Relations Specialist II to become an integral part of our People & Culture team. In this role, you will act as a key resource for managing workplace investigations while ensuring compliance with organizational policies across our various regional operations. Your expertise will be vital in fostering a positive work environment and addressing employee concerns effectively.

What you'll do
- Conduct thorough investigations into workplace grievances, including claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and violations of company policies.
- Offer strategic guidance to management on matters related to performance enhancement, conflict resolution, corrective measures, and employee terminations.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all investigation outcomes and summaries using the ThinkLP system.
- Ensure that company practices are in full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
- Proactively assess compliance risks and collaborate with Legal and leadership teams to develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Assist with regional onboarding processes, recruitment efforts, and community engagement initiatives.
- Be prepared to travel to key markets and regional sites, with travel requirements reaching up to 90 percent of your time.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management, ensuring that all parties are informed of their rights and responsibilities.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops aimed at enhancing employee relations and understanding of workplace policies.
- Monitor trends in employee relations and recommend improvements to policies and practices based on findings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of transparency and accountability within the organization.
- Act as a liaison between employees and management to foster open communication and address concerns promptly.
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 to 8 years of experience in Human Resources, with at least 2 years dedicated to Employee Relations, investigations, and providing support for field operations.
- Proven experience in supporting operations in California, with a solid understanding of California employment laws.
- In-depth knowledge of investigation methodologies and U.S. employment regulations, including ADA, FMLA, Title VII, and EEO.
- Willingness and ability to manage extensive travel requirements effectively.
- Strong skills in conflict resolution and the capacity to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Familiarity with Google Suite and general computer applications is essential.

- A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Professional proficiency in Spanish, which would be beneficial for communication in diverse work environments.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-growth company, which can provide valuable insights into dynamic employee relations challenges.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in using ThinkLP for documentation and case management.
- Strong command of Google Suite for communication and collaboration.
- Comprehensive understanding of U.S. Employment Law, including FMLA, ADA, EEO, and Title VII.
- Familiarity with California Employment Law to ensure compliance in regional operations.
Practical notes
- The base salary for this position ranges from $75,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- This role is eligible for a discretionary annual cash bonus and participation in the company's equity incentive plan.
