The organization is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to fill a specific role within its Finance and Accounting department. In this capacity, you will be a key steward of financial integrity, driving accurate reporting and sustainable process enhancements. You will own the end-to-end close process, ensuring that complex transactions are handled with precision and timeliness. This role demands ownership of intricate financial workflows, where your analysis will directly influence strategic business decisions. You will serve as the technical expert for all matters concerning fixed assets, prepaid mechanisms, and treasury interactions. Furthermore, you will act as a critical partner to the business, translating operational needs into compliant accounting solutions. Your work will ensure that the financial foundation of the company remains robust and reliable.
What you'll do
- Execute the management and execution of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close procedures with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Oversee the full lifecycle of fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposal entries in strict accordance with corporate policies.
- Analyze complex royalty and promotional service agreements to determine the correct accounting treatment and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Ensure the timely and accurate payment of all royalty and promotional service obligations, mitigating any risk of default or penalty.
- Support the administration of prepaid expenses using the NetSuite prepaid amortization engine, maintaining meticulous documentation and controls.
- Record all cash and credit card activity on a weekly basis, reconciling transactions to ensure completeness and accuracy in the ledger.
- Perform rigorous monthly reconciliations of fixed assets, prepaid expenses, royalties, and operating expense accruals to validate financial data.
- Partner with Brand Management, Operations, IT, and other cross-functional teams to support product launches, capital purchases, and system configuration initiatives.
- Identify and spearhead process improvements that automate manual tasks and streamline repetitive accounting functions for greater efficiency.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures for all accounting workflows to ensure consistency and scalability.
- Assist external auditors by preparing detailed workpapers, schedules, and supporting documentation for a clean and timely audit cycle.
- Maintain the integrity of the fixed asset module by verifying transaction entries and ensuring the consolidation aligns with reporting standards.
- Liaise with treasury to manage cash positions and ensure that financial operations adhere to contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Act as the subject matter expert for the finance team, providing guidance and training on accounting policies and system best practices.
Requirements
- Possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills that enable you to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Demonstrate a high level of attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving mindset to address challenges before they escalate.
- Exhibit the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Show proficiency in general ledger operations and month-end close activities accumulated over a multi-year period in a professional setting.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of NetSuite or other large enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to manage financial processes.
- Apply advanced Excel knowledge, including the use of pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas, to manipulate and analyze data sets.
- Hold a Bachelor's Degree or possess equivalent professional experience that demonstrates mastery of the required skill set.
- Comply with all company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements that govern financial reporting and operations.
- Adhere to strict deadlines and deliverables to ensure the financial close process remains on schedule and accurate.
- Uphold the highest standards of ethics and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information and corporate data.
Nice to have
Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience managing the fixed asset module and a deep understanding of prepaid amortization schedules and methodologies. Demonstrated exposure to accounts payable automation software, specifically Tipalti, is considered a significant advantage for this role. Familiarity with Blackline close automation and a view of multi-entity reporting structures are also advantageous to streamline consolidation efforts.

Compensation
The compensation range for this position is $78,000 to $98,000 USD.
