Bamboohr is seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Georgetown, Georgetown. This role is a fixed-term position focused on the Oko West project, where you will play a crucial role in the design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment. What you'll do

• Design and analyze mechanical systems and components to ensure they meet project requirements and safety standards.
• Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to develop project timelines and deliverables, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost analyses to evaluate potential engineering solutions and their impact on project budgets.
• Oversee the installation and commissioning of mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and safety regulations.
• Perform regular inspections and maintenance of mechanical equipment to identify and address any issues proactively.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, maintenance manuals, and project reports.
• Utilize advanced engineering software and tools to create detailed models and simulations of mechanical systems.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Participate in safety audits and risk assessments to ensure that all engineering practices adhere to industry safety standards.
• Stay updated on the latest engineering trends and technologies to continuously improve processes and methodologies.
• Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure that materials and services meet project specifications and quality standards.
• Contribute to the development of innovative engineering solutions that enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably within the mining or heavy industry sectors.
• Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science.
• Experience with project management principles and methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to mechanical engineering and safety practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and build effective working relationships.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software.
• Knowledge of automation and control systems in mechanical applications.
• Previous experience in the mining industry, particularly in project execution and management.
• Multilingual skills, especially in Spanish or Portuguese, are a plus.
