What you'll do

• Operate various types of heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, and haul trucks, ensuring efficient and safe operation.
• Conduct pre-operational checks on machinery to ensure they are in proper working condition before use.
• Monitor equipment performance and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to the maintenance team promptly.
• Collaborate with other team members to execute mining plans and achieve production targets.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and any incidents that occur during operations.
• Participate in training sessions to enhance your skills and stay updated on the latest operating techniques and safety practices.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of materials as required, ensuring proper handling and transportation of mined resources.
• Support the implementation of environmental management practices to minimize the impact of mining activities.

Requirements

• Proven experience operating heavy machinery in a mining or construction environment, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
• Valid operator's license for heavy equipment, with certifications in specific machinery preferred.
• Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in mining operations.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment and withstand varying weather conditions.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and supervisors.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor repairs and maintenance on equipment as needed.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required by operational demands.
• A commitment to teamwork and a positive attitude towards achieving collective goals.

Nice to have

• Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a mining operation.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainable mining practices.
• Additional certifications in safety training or specialized equipment operation.
• Knowledge of the local mining industry and regulations in Brazil.
• Experience with GPS and other technology used in modern mining operations.
