What you'll do
- Design, develop, and implement instrumentation systems for various mining processes, ensuring they meet operational requirements and industry standards.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of existing instrumentation to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate instrumentation systems with other engineering disciplines, enhancing overall project efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve instrumentation-related issues, providing technical support to operations and maintenance teams.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive documentation, including specifications, procedures, and reports related to instrumentation systems.
- Participate in the development and execution of testing protocols for new instrumentation equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Monitor and analyze system performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in instrumentation technology, recommending innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations in the execution of instrumentation projects.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in instrumentation engineering, preferably within the mining or heavy industry sectors.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems, including sensors, transmitters, and control systems.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard software for instrumentation design and analysis.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and regulations governing instrumentation in mining operations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental stewardship in engineering practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Nice to have
- Experience with automation and control systems, including PLCs and SCADA systems.
- Knowledge of data analysis tools and techniques for performance monitoring and optimization.
- Previous experience in project management or leading engineering teams.
