What you'll do
- Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from drafting and negotiation to execution and compliance monitoring, ensuring all contracts align with company policies and legal standards.
- Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to develop contract specifications that meet project requirements and timelines.
- Conduct thorough reviews of contracts to identify potential risks and ensure that all terms and conditions are clearly defined and understood by all parties involved.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for contract-related inquiries, providing guidance and support to internal teams and external partners.
- Implement and maintain a centralized contract management system to streamline contract tracking, reporting, and compliance activities.
- Monitor contract performance, ensuring that all parties fulfill their obligations and that any issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Prepare and present regular reports on contract status, compliance, and performance metrics to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
- Stay updated on industry trends, legal regulations, and best practices in contract administration to ensure the company remains compliant and competitive.
- Facilitate training sessions for staff on contract management processes, policies, and best practices to enhance organizational knowledge and efficiency.
- Assist in the development and implementation of contract management policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency.
- Participate in negotiations with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and conditions for the company.
- Support the finance team in budget management related to contracts, ensuring that all financial obligations are met and documented accurately.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field; a master's degree or relevant certification (e.g., Certified Professional Contracts Manager) is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in contract administration, preferably within the mining or construction industries.
- Strong understanding of contract law and regulations, with the ability to interpret complex legal documents.
- Proven experience in negotiating contracts and managing stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple contracts and projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to identify potential risks and issues.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
