About the role
You will own the end-to-end sales cycle for biotech customers in the South of France region, acting as the primary scientific and commercial partner for your portfolio. You will leverage your life sciences expertise to translate customer research goals into GenScript product and service solutions that drive sustainable revenue growth. This role requires you to build long-term strategic partnerships, proactively identify new business opportunities, and ensure existing accounts expand through tailored cross-selling and upselling initiatives. You will represent GenScript with scientific credibility, ensuring every customer interaction reinforces trust and positions the brand as a strategic collaborator in their innovation journey. You will also forecast pipeline activity, manage key performance metrics, and continuously refine your territory strategy based on market feedback and competitive dynamics. Through disciplined execution and consultative selling, you will establish GenScript as the preferred partner for biotechnology innovation in your defined market segment.

What you'll do
Develop and strategically manage assigned accounts across the territory, building strong partnerships with biotech organizations and key decision-makers to deliver tailored solutions, drive sustainable revenue growth, prospect new accounts, and secure new business across both new and existing customers.
Research and understand your territory's growth opportunities by mapping customer needs, the competitive landscape, and untapped segments; develop an effective business plan and sales strategy and deepen client relationships by understanding both short-term project needs and long-term research goals to position GenScript's products and services as a strategic fit for their work.
Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams - technical, marketing, project management, and other supporting teams - to deliver an outstanding customer experience, ensuring seamless coordination from inquiry to implementation and post-sale support.
Schedule customer visits and sales calls to address customer needs both in person and online, execute your sales strategy with timely follow-up on every interaction, capture detailed notes through CRM to keep your pipeline accurate and your team informed, and use these insights to continuously refine your approach and prioritise your time.
Share market insights, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback with internal stakeholders to help shape our commercial strategy, product positioning, and future go-to-market initiatives.
Represent GenScript at industry conferences, scientific meetings, and networking events to strengthen brand presence, generate qualified leads, and maintain top-of-mind awareness within the scientific community.
Identify and qualify new prospect opportunities, aligning customer requirements with GenScript capabilities, and articulate clear value propositions that demonstrate measurable impact and return on investment.
Negotiate and structure commercial agreements, ensuring terms align with customer needs while protecting company interests and profitability across the South of France territory.
Maintain up-to-date documentation of customer interactions, decision-making processes, and stakeholder maps to enable smooth transitions and continuity within long-term account relationships.
Track and report on key performance indicators, including pipeline coverage, conversion rates, and forecast accuracy, to drive data-informed decisions and improve sales effectiveness over time.
Work with internal teams to design and execute targeted account plans, aligning resources and initiatives to maximize share of wallet within strategic customers in your assigned region.
Provide feedback on product usage trends, unmet needs, and emerging scientific themes to inform R&D, marketing, and operational priorities across the organization.
Support customer onboarding and success initiatives by coordinating with internal specialists, ensuring smooth implementation and high satisfaction among newly acquired accounts.
Champion GenScript's brand values and mission, demonstrating ethical selling practices, compliance adherence, and a commitment to long-term partnership building.
Requirements
MSc or PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Immunology, Biotechnology, or a related Life Sciences discipline.
Minimum 2 years of sales and/or business development experience within the life sciences, biotechnology, or CRO sector.
Hands-on laboratory experience and the ability to engage confidently in scientific discussions with customers.
Experience in prospecting, territory management, lead management, negotiation and closing.
Strong self-motivated, self-organization and able to work independently in a remote environment.
Fluent in French and English, both written and verbal (French proficiency at C1 level or above).
Willingness to travel up to 30% as required.
Nice to have
Familiarity with one or more of: Gene Synthesis, Proteins, Peptides, Antibodies, Cell Line Development Services.
Track record working effectively in a global, cross-functional, multicultural team.
