GTM Special Projects
Job description
About the role
Operations capability for the sales organization is strengthened, with infrastructure, content, and competitive intelligence created to help revenue teams close deals as the business grows. This high-variety role handles one problem each week, from battle cards to AI automation and ROI frameworks for enterprise buyers.
Marketing teams grow awareness and demand for a company's products. They write copy, run campaigns, manage channels, and measure results. The work spans content, paid ads, email, events, and search. Marketing roles combine creativity with data and constant testing. Marketing teams usually run experiments every week and keep the work that performs. Most companies hire specialists in channels such as paid search, email, or content.
Key facts
What you'll do
Market intelligence is synthesized into battle cards, win/loss reviews, and competitor monitoring to guide selling decisions. Routine tasks are automated, enablement content is produced faster, and competitive intelligence is delivered more quickly using AI tools.
Requirements
Experience in Sales Operations, Strategy & Operations, Management Consulting, Investment Banking, or a similar analytical role is required, with a track record of driving projects independently in fast-moving environments over 2 4 years. Startup experience must include building processes from scratch, adapting quickly as priorities shift, and thriving in ambiguity. Advanced proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets must be demonstrated, including comfort building models and dashboards and the ability to turn data into clear recommendations. Hands-on experience with CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar is required, covering report building, workflow configuration, and data quality management. Complex information must be distilled into sales-ready content while managing multiple concurrent workstreams and consistently shipping quality work on time. A bias toward action and resourcefulness must be shown, with good judgment on when to build thorough solutions versus shipping something scrappy that unblocks the team. Genuine curiosity about using AI tools to find productivity gains must be present.
Practical notes
Typical interview steps
Marketing interviews often include a portfolio review, a campaign exercise, and analytics questions. Candidates may be asked to plan a launch, write a brief, or improve a funnel. Some loops include a presentation. Results from past campaigns carry the most weight. Interviewers ask about specific campaigns you ran and what the numbers said. Preparing a short case of one campaign with its results is strong preparation.
Good to know
Roles in sales operations and strategy often blend analytical work with project management across multiple stakeholders. Familiarity with AI tools for productivity is increasingly relevant in modern GTM functions. Enterprise sales motions rely on enablement content, competitive insights, and rigorous deal hygiene to scale efficiently. Questions to ask
Worth asking in any interview: how the team measures success, who the role works with daily, what the onboarding looks like, and what the company is trying to achieve this year. Asking what past hires did well is a strong final question. Keep the list short and pick the questions that matter most to you.
Career growth
Marketing careers move from associate to manager, director, and VP levels. Specializations include growth, brand, product marketing, and content. Generalists often start, then specialize as they advance. Measured impact on pipeline and revenue drives progression. Marketing careers reward measurable results and adaptability.
