What you'll do
- Lead engineering projects from conception through to completion, ensuring they meet quality standards and project timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, project managers, and clients, to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Conduct thorough analyses of engineering problems and develop innovative solutions that align with industry standards and best practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to enhance their skills and professional development.
- Oversee the preparation of technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and presentations, to communicate project progress and outcomes effectively.
- Implement and maintain engineering processes and methodologies to improve efficiency and productivity within the team.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure the company remains at the forefront of engineering innovation.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations, showcasing engineering solutions and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards throughout the engineering process.
- Manage project budgets and resources, ensuring optimal allocation and utilization to meet project goals.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to conduct testing and validation of engineering solutions prior to deployment.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering practices within the organization by providing feedback and suggestions based on project experiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering, with a focus on project management and leadership.
- Proven experience in managing complex engineering projects and delivering results on time and within budget.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools relevant to the industry, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar applications.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and lead diverse teams effectively.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards related to engineering practices.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Experience with sustainable design practices and green building initiatives.
- Familiarity with project management software and methodologies, such as Agile or Scrum.
- Previous experience in a consulting engineering firm or similar environment.
- Advanced knowledge of building codes and construction practices.
