What you'll do
- Lead and manage aviation engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, architects, and stakeholders, to define project objectives and deliverables.
- Develop comprehensive project plans that outline scope, resources, timelines, and risk management strategies.
- Monitor project progress and performance, implementing corrective actions as necessary to keep projects on track.
- Facilitate regular project meetings to communicate updates, address challenges, and foster collaboration among team members.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant aviation regulations, standards, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and present project proposals, reports, and documentation to clients and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and transparency.
- Mentor and guide junior project managers and team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
- Conduct post-project evaluations to identify lessons learned and areas for improvement in future projects.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes that may impact aviation engineering and planning.
- Contribute to business development efforts by identifying new opportunities and participating in proposal writing and presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in project management within the aviation or engineering sectors.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale aviation projects, demonstrating strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with aviation regulations, standards, and best practices, including FAA regulations and guidelines.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar applications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.

- Experience with sustainable aviation practices and green building initiatives.
- Knowledge of advanced technologies in aviation, such as unmanned aerial systems (UAS) or smart airport solutions.
- Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS) and their application in aviation planning.
