What you'll do

• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to develop comprehensive building enclosure designs that meet project specifications and codes.
• Conduct thorough analyses of structural systems to ensure they are safe, efficient, and compliant with industry standards.
• Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications for building enclosure components, including walls, roofs, and windows.
• Perform field inspections and assessments of existing structures to evaluate their condition and recommend necessary repairs or upgrades.
• Utilize advanced software tools for modeling and simulation to optimize building performance and energy efficiency.
• Engage in project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, to ensure timely project delivery.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and interns, fostering a collaborative and educational work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in building enclosure and structural engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and best practices related to building enclosure design.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Familiarity with sustainable design practices and materials is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining quality standards.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.

Skills & tools

The successful candidate will be proficient in a variety of engineering software and tools, including AutoCAD, Revit, and structural analysis programs.
