About the role
This role is a critical position within the Building Envelope sector, specifically focused on the Roofing discipline, where your analytical work will directly influence the financial direction of projects. You will own the complete preparation of takeoffs and estimates for a diverse portfolio of projects, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company standards. Success in this position will involve converting complex drawings and specifications into precise material and labor requirements for quotation purposes. You will be responsible for preparing and diligently following up on all quotations and tenders to support the sales process. A key part of your ownership will be consulting with clients to discuss and formulate competitive yet profitable estimates that meet their specific needs. You will also manage the administrative side of bidding, including ordering Bid Bonds, Performance Bonds, Agreements to Bonds, Tender deposits, Letters of Reference, and CCDC Documents. Furthermore, you will write up work orders and maintain the accuracy of the Quotation summary to reflect the status of active versus completed jobs. This position requires you to set-up and spearhead team meetings for reviews of takeoffs with other branches to ensure consistency and quality across the organization.

What you'll do
Prepare detailed takeoffs and estimates for roofing projects within the ICI sector.
Download and review architectural drawings and technical specifications to ensure complete understanding.
Perform complex area calculations to determine the scope of work and material requirements.
Consult with clients to clarify project details and formulate accurate cost projections.
Prepare and follow up on quotations and tenders to meet submission deadlines.
Write up work orders and other necessary documentation for project initiation.
Update the Quotation summary to track the status of active versus completed jobs.
Assist Production or Service teams with preparing prices for extras or credits as project scopes evolve.
Set-up and spearhead team meetings for reviews of takeoffs with other branches to share best practices.
Order Bid Bonds, Performance Bonds, Agreements to Bonds, Tender deposits, Letters of Reference, and CCDC Documents.
Review data meticulously to determine the precise material and labour requirements for job costing.
Conduct area calculations to support the estimating process and resource allocation.
Collaborate with clients to discuss and formulate estimates that align with project constraints and expectations.
Assisting Production or Service with preparing prices for extras or credits to maintain project profitability.
Requirements
College diploma or post-graduate certificate in industry relevant program (I.e. Construction Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology).
Experience in estimating building envelope projects within the ICI sector, with a focus on Roofing.
Ability to read blueprints, plans and specifications with a high degree of accuracy.
Strong computer skills and proficient with MS Office suite applications.
Excellent oral & written communication skills to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Excellent math skills to perform detailed calculations and cost analysis.
Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Highly organized and time-efficient to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
