Head of Revenue
Job description
About the role
Flux is reimagining how hardware is designed and built. We are developing the world's first AI hardware engineer to eliminate traditional barriers in electronics development. Founded in 2019, our platform enables anyone to go from a natural language idea to a manufacturable board using only a prompt. This dramatically democratizes a process historically reserved for experts with years of specialized training. Backed by prominent investors including 8VC, Bain Capital Ventures, Liquid 2 Ventures, Outsiders Fund, Figma board member John Lilly, and GitHub founder Tom Preston-Werner, we closed a $37M funding round in February 2026 to accelerate our mission. By unlocking hardware creation for everyone, we are reshaping the broader technological landscape.
This role is critical to ensuring that momentum translates into sustainable, scalable growth. The Head of Revenue will own the entire revenue lifecycle through a pure product-led growth (PLG) model. There is no traditional sales or enterprise motion; success is driven through self-serve acquisition, onboarding activation, and ongoing expansion. This position requires an operator who can balance strategic vision with granular execution, serving as a trusted advisor to the executive team and board while maintaining a relentless focus on customer value.
What you'll do
- Own Flux's PLG revenue strategy end to end, from acquisition through retention and expansion.
- Be accountable for ARR growth, conversion, retention, and expansion metrics.
- Partner closely with Product to improve activation, time-to-value, and long-term customer success.
- Define and evolve pricing, packaging, and self-serve upgrade paths.
- Lead and manage Growth, Marketing, and Customer Success.
- Establish clear revenue targets, forecasting, and operating cadence.
- Use data and experimentation to prioritize growth and monetization opportunities.
- Translate customer behavior and insights into GTM and product strategy.
- Serve as the executive owner of revenue in leadership and board discussions.
- Drive the implementation of revenue operations tools and dashboards to enable scalable PLG motion.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align product roadmap with customer acquisition and expansion signals.
- Design and run experiments aimed at improving conversion across the self-serve funnel.
- Monitor and optimize key funnel metrics including activation, time-to-first-value, and feature adoption.
- Build and maintain narratives around revenue performance to guide strategic decision-making at the executive level.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in growth, commercial, or GM roles at high-growth product-led companies.
- Proven track record owning revenue growth in a PLG or self-serve SaaS business.
- Strong product intuition and experience working closely with product and engineering teams.
- Comfort owning revenue targets, forecasts, and tradeoffs (with operational support).
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary GTM teams (growth, marketing, CS).
- Clear communicator with strong executive presence.
- Ability to operate with focus and discipline in a product-constrained growth environment.
- History of making decisions with incomplete information and navigating ambiguity in fast-paced settings.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with technical founders and translate technical constraints into GTM strategy.
- Willingness to roll up sleeves and contribute directly to revenue operations when needed.
- Experience with developer tools, design tools, or technical audiences.
- Experience scaling a PLG business from single-digit millions to tens of millions in ARR.
Why this role matters
This role ensures Flux has clear, senior ownership of revenue as the company scales. You will help turn strong product pull into disciplined growth while preserving the simplicity and power of a pure PLG model. Your work will directly impact how quickly we can bring AI-powered hardware design to the world, enabling anyone to build the future.
Profile
Impact-oriented: You don't feel done until real people are getting real value from what you built.
Ambiguity-native: You thrive in the undefined. Our work is full of half-mapped terrain, soft constraints, and ideas that shift under your feet. That energizes you. You constantly update your intuitions as you go, and are excited to discover new and better ways to attack challenges we're still finding words to describe.
Collaborative: You share your thoughts early and often, and welcome debate and creative collaboration. Flux is a deeply collaborative company, and we believe that the best ideas can only win if they're said out loud.
Convention-averse: Flux is an AI-first company, building AI tooling, using AI tooling. We constantly experiment with new tools, techniques, and processes. You feel an urgency to reimagine what your work looks like in this rapidly changing world, and you value critical thinking far above established conventions.
Ownership mentality: You are a self-starter, bias toward action, and care deeply about the team and community who lean on you and your work.
