Senior Product Manager, Community & Growth
Job description
About the role
You will own the end-to-end strategy and execution for the Get team, defining how millions of photographers move from discovery to deep engagement and long-term subscription value. You will translate complex user behavior and market signals into a clear product narrative that aligns legal, marketing, platform, and executive stakeholders around a single coherent vision. This role requires you to drive innovation within a historic brand while navigating evolving privacy norms, regulatory expectations, and monetization opportunities. You will be accountable for the full acquisition and onboarding funnel, turning momentary curiosity into sustained participation and eventual Pro conversion. You will design and run disciplined experiments that compound over time, using data to refine every step of the user journey. You will partner across teams to ensure that community features and growth initiatives are technically sound, legally compliant, and aligned with the long-term health of the platform. Ultimately, you will define what success looks like for community and growth at Flickr and deliver measurable outcomes that reinforce the brand's relevance in a competitive market.
Key facts
What you'll do
Define the strategic opportunity for community and growth on Flickr, set the roadmap, and communicate progress and learnings to leadership on a regular cadence.
Build and evolve the end-to-end acquisition and onboarding funnel, from first visit to community activation and first-month engagement, with direct accountability for key funnel metrics.
Design and run a rigorous experimentation program, writing briefs, analyzing results, separating signal from noise, and compounding improvements over time.
Own legal and compliance requirements across login, signup, and onboarding, partnering closely with Legal and Trust & Safety to ensure responsible product decisions.
Partner with the platform team to ensure the app delivers a best-in-class acquisition and activation surface, balancing performance, reliability, and user experience.
Collaborate with marketing to shape acquisition strategy and campaigns, serving as the product voice for how new users are introduced to Flickr and its community features.
Define metrics that matter for community health and growth, set targets, and drive alignment across product, marketing, and platform to achieve shared outcomes.
Evaluate and prioritize opportunities across the funnel, balancing quick wins against long-term bets while managing competing priorities and stakeholder demands.
Synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights to inform product decisions, using data, SQL, and user research to guide strategic choices.
Lead roadmap planning sessions with cross-functional partners, making hard tradeoff calls that balance Get priorities against broader business outcomes.
Build alignment across teams by articulating a clear vision, facilitating discussions, and ensuring shared understanding of goals, constraints, and success criteria.
Champion craftsmanship in product management, writing clear specs, running tight roadmap reviews, and setting a standard that elevates the entire team.
Develop deep empathy for photographers, understanding their motivations, barriers, and unmet needs to design experiences that feel intuitive and meaningful.
Continuously monitor post-onboarding engagement and retention, identifying levers that encourage long-term participation and subscription conversion.
Requirements
6+ years of product management experience with a track record of owning and shipping significant growth or community products at a senior level.
A strategic leader who can set the vision and execute it, defining the roadmap, influencing across the organization, and driving outcomes with or without a large team behind you.
Deeply data-informed and comfortable getting into the numbers yourself, translating what you find into strategic decisions not just observations. SQL skills are a strong plus and will help you move faster in this role.
Design fluency, with the ability to give clear and actionable direction to designers, use prototyping and early visuals to align teams, and prioritize high UX quality before committing to build.
A strong track record with acquisition and growth metrics, including onboarding completion, signup conversion, funnel optimization, and LTV.
Proven experimentation chops, including designing rigorous tests, reading results honestly, separating signal from noise, and building a compounding program that gets smarter over time.
Experience with community, social, or subscription products where engagement and conversion were central to growth. You understand what drives sustained participation and how to balance user value with business outcomes.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear narratives that inspire action and alignment.
Nice to have
Experience shipping products that scale to millions of users while maintaining performance, reliability, and clarity of user experience.
Background in photography, visual media, or creative communities, with an understanding of how photographers share, discover, and monetize their work.
Familiarity with legal and compliance constraints around user-generated content, privacy, and authentication in consumer-facing platforms.
Experience working in a fully remote or distributed team environment, with strong asynchronous communication practices.
