Flatiron Health is a leader in oncology data and analytics, and the Strategic Partnerships Manager will play a central role in building and maintaining relationships with external organizations that support the company's mission. This position is based in the Tokyo office and involves working cross-functionally with internal teams to identify and pursue partnership opportunities. The manager will be responsible for guiding strategic collaborations from initial contact through execution, ensuring that each partnership aligns with the company's goals and creates meaningful value for all parties involved. What you'll do
- Identify and evaluate potential partner organizations in the healthcare and life sciences sectors to expand the company's reach
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of partnership opportunities aligned with company objectives and quarterly business targets
- Lead discussions with external stakeholders to define collaboration terms, mutual goals, and expected outcomes from each partnership
- Coordinate with internal teams to assess the strategic fit of proposed partnerships and recommend next steps
- Prepare detailed proposals and presentations for prospective partners and internal leadership to secure approval for new initiatives
- Monitor the progress of active partnerships and report on key performance indicators to senior management on a regular basis
- Build long-term relationships with partner organizations to foster ongoing collaboration and identify additional areas of mutual benefit
- Support the negotiation process to ensure favorable outcomes for Flatiron Health while maintaining positive external relationships
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking gatherings to increase visibility and attract new partners
- Document partnership agreements and ensure all parties meet their commitments throughout the duration of each collaboration
- Evaluate market trends and competitive dynamics to inform partnership strategy decisions and prioritize high-value opportunities
- Provide regular updates to senior leadership on partnership development activities and progress against established targets
Requirements
- Strong understanding of the healthcare and life sciences industry landscape, current market trends, and emerging opportunities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with diverse internal and external stakeholders across all levels
- Ability to manage multiple partnership initiatives simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines
- Prior experience in business development, strategic alliances, or a related commercial field with a track record of success
- Demonstrated ability to build and sustain professional relationships over extended periods of time with a variety of organizations
- Analytical mindset with the capacity to assess partnership opportunities and their potential impact on the company's strategic goals
- Proficiency in both Japanese and English for effective communication across regional offices and with international colleagues
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant discipline such as business, finance, or life sciences
