About the role
Flatiron Health is seeking a dedicated Product Manager to join their growing team at the NY office. The Product Manager will play a central role in defining and delivering product improvements that serve oncology care teams and cancer research organizations. This individual will take ownership of product features from initial concept through implementation and post-launch evaluation. The position requires close collaboration with engineering, design, clinical, and business stakeholders to ensure that product decisions align with both user needs and company strategy.

What you'll do
- Define and prioritize product features that directly support oncology care workflows and clinical research initiatives across Flatiron Health platforms.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including software engineers, UX designers, and clinical domain experts to refine and validate product requirements before development begins.
- Gather qualitative and quantitative input from internal stakeholders and external users to understand unmet needs and translate them into actionable product roadmaps.
- Conduct thorough market and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for product growth, differentiation, and expanded adoption within the healthcare industry.
- Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of product releases, ensuring that timelines, quality standards, and success criteria are met consistently.
- Work hand-in-hand with data science and analytics teams to define key performance indicators and establish measurement frameworks for evaluating product impact.
- Actively participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to maintain team velocity and transparency.
- Author and maintain comprehensive product documentation including user stories, feature specifications, acceptance criteria, and release notes for each iteration.
- Partner with customer-facing teams including sales and support to ensure that product capabilities align with client expectations and market demands.
- Continuously iterate on existing product features by incorporating user feedback, usage analytics, and emerging best practices in healthcare technology.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in product management within healthcare, life sciences, biotechnology, or enterprise technology sectors is essential for this role.
- Strong foundational understanding of product development lifecycle stages and agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban frameworks is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven track record of managing product roadmaps, setting priorities, and making informed trade-off decisions under real constraints.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant discipline such as computer science, engineering, or life sciences is expected.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a demonstrated ability to make sound decisions in fast-paced, rapidly evolving environments.
- Experience working effectively with cross-functional teams that span engineering, design, clinical affairs, regulatory, and business operations.
- A history of delivering tangible product outcomes that meaningfully address user needs while advancing broader organizational objectives and strategic goals.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with oncology or cancer research domains including common terminology, treatment pathways, and clinical trial processes would be a strong advantage.
- Prior experience working with electronic health records, laboratory information systems, or other clinical data platforms is valued for this role.
- Background in building and launching products within regulated industries such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, or medical devices is considered beneficial.
- Knowledge of data analytics platforms, visualization tools, and reporting frameworks commonly used in clinical and research settings is welcomed.
