About the role
We are seeking a Data Analyst to join our team and contribute to our mission of enhancing cancer care through data insights. In this position, you will collaborate with the Data Capabilities team to manage operational tools and metrics that facilitate our real-world evidence initiatives. You will perform analyses to optimize these processes and create data visualizations for internal stakeholders. The role requires ownership of end to end data workflows that directly support clinical and operational decision making. You will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and timeliness of data products used across the organization. This position offers the opportunity to work on impactful projects that influence how real-world evidence is generated and leveraged. You will partner with cross functional teams to translate business questions into analytical solutions. Your work will help drive strategic initiatives by providing clear, actionable insights grounded in robust data analysis.

What you'll do
- Maintain and enhance operational tools and metrics to support real-world evidence deliveries.
- Analyze data to derive actionable insights and develop compelling visualizations for internal use.
- Create and document metrics for operational teams and support them with data tools and dashboards.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to define and execute data driven experiments and projects.
- Generate analytical ideas to contribute to a pipeline of initiatives aimed at achieving Flatiron's strategic objectives.
- Design and implement data models that improve the efficiency and scalability of analytics processes.
- Develop automated reporting solutions to reduce manual effort and improve data freshness.
- Partner with data engineers to ensure data quality and integrity across platforms.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover trends and patterns that inform business decisions.
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear narratives for non technical stakeholders.
- Support the deployment of analytics tools into production environments with appropriate monitoring.
- Identify opportunities to standardize metrics and definitions across different data sources.
- Assist in the creation of dashboards that track key performance indicators for operational teams.
- Provide statistical guidance to support hypothesis testing and experimental design.
Requirements
- 1-3+ years of experience in data analysis and visualization using business intelligence tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Apache Superset.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical discipline such as data science, engineering, computer science, mathematics, applied statistics, or health economics, or equivalent programming experience.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python (specifically with pandas).
- Experience with automating spreadsheets using Excel (including VBA) and Google Sheets (using Google AppScripts).
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills to convey complex data analyses clearly and effectively.
- Experience collaborating with remote teams.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with data sets.
- Willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures related to data governance and security.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced setting.
- Commitment to continuous learning and adapting to new tools and methodologies.
- Understanding of data privacy and compliance considerations relevant to handling health related information.
- Willingness to partner closely with technical and non technical stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

- Familiarity with dbt and Airflow.
- Experience using AI coding assistants like Cursor or Claude Code.
- Background in operations or clinical data, particularly in oncology.
- Experience in designing experiments or developing predictive models.
- Prior experience working within a healthcare or life sciences environment.
- Knowledge of data visualization best practices and storytelling techniques.
- Exposure to real-world evidence generation and regulatory considerations.
- Experience contributing to cross functional project planning and execution.
- Understanding of version control workflows using Git based platforms.
- Ability to mentor junior analysts and contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives.
