About the role
In this position, you will be a key contributor to the management and execution of core manufacturing services within Fictiv's platform. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the entire lifecycle of manufacturing orders, from initial transfer of requirements through to final delivery, ensuring that all processes meet quality standards and delivery timelines. You will work closely with cross-functional teams - including sales, engineering, and customer support - as well as external manufacturing partners in China, to facilitate operations. Your role will involve coordinating schedules, troubleshooting production issues, and managing change processes to support Fictiv's mission of creating a premier hardware manufacturing platform. What you'll do
- Collaborate with the costing, design for manufacturing (DFM), and sales teams to effectively transfer order requirements from the pre-sales phase into production planning.
- Partner with the customer program manager to initiate manufacturing orders, coordinate schedules, and ensure alignment between customer expectations and manufacturing capabilities.
- Oversee the entire order lifecycle, from order placement to shipment, ensuring that all manufacturing milestones are met and that deliveries are completed on time and within quality standards.
- Track progress with manufacturing partners regularly to monitor schedule adherence, quality metrics, and potential risks, taking proactive steps to address issues as they arise.
- Analyze detailed customer specifications and provide troubleshooting support during production, leveraging team expertise to resolve technical challenges and ensure product quality.
- Facilitate effective communication between global teams, including Fictiv's offices in the US, China, India, and Mexico, as well as external manufacturing partners located in China.
- Work closely with manufacturing partners on product and process planning, supporting successful production launches and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage change control processes internally within Fictiv and externally with manufacturing partners, ensuring smooth adaptation to design modifications, process updates, or schedule adjustments.
- Coordinate with the Fictiv China team to ensure that shipments are completed on time and meet quality expectations, maintaining high standards for delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Support customer-facing teams and quality assurance teams in addressing and resolving customer complaints, providing technical insights and process improvements to prevent recurrence.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of manufacturing workflows, standards, and best practices to improve efficiency and quality across operations.
- Assist in the onboarding and training of new manufacturing partners or team members, sharing best practices and ensuring alignment with company standards.
- Maintain detailed documentation of order statuses, process changes, and quality issues to support continuous improvement and audit readiness.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to review project progress, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to meet operational goals.
- Stay informed about industry trends, manufacturing innovations, and quality standards relevant to hardware manufacturing to continuously enhance operational capabilities.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Metalworking Manufacturing, Tooling Design & Manufacture, or a related engineering discipline is required.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience working in FATP (Final Assembly Test & Pack) or OEM/CM for mechanical hardware manufacturing, CNC machining, molding, or plastic tooling.
- At least 5 years of project management experience, demonstrating the ability to plan, execute, and oversee complex manufacturing projects.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality assurance standards, and project management methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, with proven experience working in multicultural and international teams.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple priorities independently, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze technical specifications, troubleshoot production issues, and implement effective solutions.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing project requirements.
- Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to collaborate across functions and with external partners to achieve shared goals.
- Experience working with manufacturing partners in China is highly desirable.
Nice to have
- PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is preferred.
- Familiarity with advanced quality planning and control processes such as APQP/PPAP, IQ/OQ/PQ, EV/DV/PV, or NPI processes is advantageous.
- Knowledge of quality management systems, sourcing strategies, and logistics management.
- Strong business acumen, including customer expectation management, supplier negotiation, and cost control.
- Experience working with international supply chains and understanding of export/import regulations relevant to China manufacturing.
- Ability to speak additional languages relevant to the region or global teams would be a plus.

- Familiarity with manufacturing process documentation, quality standards, and continuous improvement methodologies.
