About the role
In the role of Strategic Sourcing Specialist, you will be instrumental in identifying and researching potential manufacturing partners to assist Fictiv's sourcing team in making well-informed, data-driven choices. Your efforts will significantly contribute to expanding our supplier network, improving cost efficiency, and ensuring a reliable supply chain for our clients.

What you'll do
- Perform comprehensive market research to pinpoint potential suppliers using a variety of resources, including online platforms, industry conferences, customs data, and trade directories.
- Develop and maintain a well-organized database of suppliers, capturing critical information such as their capabilities, certifications, and geographical locations.
- Keep abreast of industry developments and new suppliers in manufacturing techniques such as CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, injection molding, die casting, and forging.
- Collect and document fundamental details about suppliers, including their production capacities, equipment types, and relevant certifications.
- Assist in generating lists of potential suppliers for further assessment by the sourcing team.
- Aid the team in organizing outreach initiatives and initial communications with prospective suppliers.
- Ensure accurate documentation of supplier research findings within Fictiv's internal systems.
- Create reports on supplier or industry research for review by the team.
- Help monitor supplier performance metrics, including lead times and responsiveness.
- Work closely with the sourcing team to prioritize research tasks effectively.
- Attend industry trade shows and exhibitions as necessary to gather insights on suppliers and market trends.
- Provide administrative support during the supplier onboarding process, which includes coordinating Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and Master Service Agreements (MSAs).
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline is essential.
- A minimum of 3 to 6 years of experience in a manufacturing supply chain or supplier development capacity is required.
- A self-driven individual with a strong desire to deepen knowledge in sourcing and manufacturing practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities for managing supplier data accurately.
- A research-focused mindset with the ability to analyze market data to identify leading suppliers effectively.
- A collaborative spirit to work efficiently with the sourcing team in achieving strategic goals.
- Basic technical curiosity and a willingness to learn about manufacturing processes such as CNC machining and die casting.
- Experience in one or two specific areas of manufacturing is preferred.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with supplier onboarding processes and contract management would be advantageous.
Skills & tools
- Proficiency in data management and reporting software is essential.
- Understanding of supplier research techniques and market analysis methods is beneficial.
