About the role
The Product Line Director for Castings will be responsible for overseeing Fictiv's casting division, which encompasses various casting methods such as die casting, investment casting, and sand casting. This role is ideal for an experienced professional who has successfully managed casting projects from their initial stages through to production. The Director will significantly influence the company's strategic initiatives regarding pricing, marketing, and manufacturing capabilities.

What you'll do
- Direct the strategic planning and expansion of the castings product line, ensuring it aligns with the broader business goals.
- Evaluate market dynamics, customer insights, and competitive intelligence to inform strategy development and decision-making.
- Create and enhance product line strategies, pricing frameworks, and market positioning to boost profitability and improve customer experience.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to define capabilities in casting technologies, materials, and quality assurance standards.
- Act as the internal authority on casting technologies, facilitating effective communication and technical discussions with various stakeholders.
- Set and track key performance indicators related to growth, customer satisfaction, and operational effectiveness.
- Foster a culture of accountability and ongoing improvement within the team.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop promotional strategies that effectively communicate the value of the casting product line.
- Identify opportunities for innovation within the casting processes and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency.
- Mentor and develop team members, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to excel in their roles.
- Conduct regular reviews of product performance and market trends to adapt strategies as necessary.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Materials, Metallurgical, or Manufacturing), Operations Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in metal casting, including die casting, investment casting, and sand casting, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity focused on growth and operational excellence.
- Comprehensive understanding of casting processes, materials, and industry standards, including high-pressure die casting, alloy selection, and defect mitigation.
- Demonstrated success in driving business growth and enhancing customer satisfaction within a complex manufacturing landscape.
- Excellent leadership and communication abilities, with a talent for inspiring and aligning diverse teams.
- Familiarity with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma is advantageous.
- Capacity to juggle multiple projects and adjust to a fast-paced work environment.
- Willingness to travel as required to meet business demands.

- Knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100, and other relevant industry standards.
- Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies and digital transformation initiatives.
- Previous involvement in international markets or global supply chains.

Practical notes
- Salary range: $145,000 - $240,000 per year, depending on experience, with an additional potential for 25 percent variable compensation.
